We told John to put the firmest possible weight on the last panel, and did he ever: a Dutch-angle uppercut with bonus Jack Kirbyesque face-in-yo’-face angle on Frigg, there.
“You’re the crusader here; make me” is smack talk with a similar rhythm to “You’re a god; make it stop” from Buffy, but it’s also an invitation in line with Rachel’s real intent in this fight.
Frigg hasn’t really fought Rachel before this and she definitely hasn’t fought a Rachel who’s putting this much passion into her power, so she could be excused, maybe, for thinking that restraining one glowing fist at the wrist might mean restraining Rachel’s power. LOL NOPE
In a perfect world, you’d think Frigg would respect Rachel for showing her no mercy and NOT backing down.
Have I mentioned how much a love Rachel’s hair, and the way it becomes progressively more disheveled as as this fight develops?
This is one of my favorite pages. I love how Rachel is finally speaking Frigg’s language (so to speak).
