I think our attitude was that Kur’Ik was not quite of age, and with her primary caretaker gone, sh/e felt she needed someone to sign off on her intent. Syr recognizes she’s ready to be treated as an adult.

I never made any kind of connection between Kur’lk & Shanna before. It was much later in the story when I though Shanna might be playing a character. I thought she & the Sepia 5 were members of Bandit’s crew.
