Add to that the “nobleman approved hobbies” include hunting, and their access to high-quality equipment, why would they not make the BEST highwayment?

Commoners weren’t conscripted because they were better at it, but because they were more disposable.

Privilege means having advantages that others do not, and nobody was more privileged than aristocracy.

It seems like a profession with an abundance of people so I doubt a former nobleman could succeed at it.
