I think it’s like the average psychopath in a terrorist organization, they claim to support the cause, but in reality just want to kill people and want the support of the organization. They aren’t really there for anyone other than themselves.

The Land Sharks are the same way, they see themselves as Alpha predators and everyone else as prey. It is not about whether there can be peace, it is that the Sharks don’t *want* peace. I’d have suspected that if the rebellion had won, the Sharks would have turned against them anyway.

It kind of seems that in their acquisition of skilled, intelligent allies, they’ve lost a bunch of chaotic killing machines that have to be told what they’re not allowed to kill. Even losing Hammerhead, who seems to have rolled an 18 for Int before the Landshark racial penalty of -4 to 6, they’re losing a pittance over gaining real military allies.

In fact, come to think of it, I would bet landsharks are in the minority of obligate carnivores in the savage races, and so the agricultural products that their new allies will bring should be more than sufficient.
