You don’t understand, do you?
You only do a favour for a Chaotic Neutral if they requested it (or sometimes if you owe them)… THEN they’ll thank you.
Try doing a favour for a Chaotic Neutral unbidden… and it will be treated like you’re trying to collar them… and nothing will make a C/N hate you quite so much as trying to collar them, so to speak.

I only pun when people are doing an exceptionally poor job of it.

It isn’t something I’m proud of, but I hate to see anything done poorly… especially if I can do it better despite not wanting to.
