A quick Googling suggests that over 200,000 people per year end up in the hospital in the US because they had too much to smoke.

Mind you, it was such a quick Googling that it’s probably not a very accurate number, since I knowingly ignored a lot of variables, but the point stands that the answer is “lots.”

Also, I might ask you to cite your sources that alcohol fumes are frequently present in sufficient concentrations to have a meaningful effect on people. Ethanol’s volatile, but it’s not like it visibly boils at standard temperature and pressure.

so i guess we’re saying tongue cancer>lung cancer? XD

that said, tobacco itself is reasonably safe, and that’s what is used in pipes/cigars. the focus is on keeping the taste “pure”, especially with decent quality cigars. The real carcinogenic stuff is what is added to “fill out” cigarettes, and some of that stuff is nasty;)
