I appreciate that Byron goes from WTF’ed on the floor to on his feet with murder machine fully deployed in less time than it takes a sneaky little bastard to turn around and take two steps.
The problem arises that the explosion will not be directed. If you hit two people with the same concussive force, I would bet on the trained berserker taking less damage than the kid. If nothing else, he’ll have a lot more hit points.
