I detect some cultural bias in this attitude. When you regenerate wounds, like the ragged, gaping hole left a by a serrated spearhead, in mere minutes, of course you are by nature hard-to-kill, and it takes a special mix of bad luck and bad decisions on your part to get killed. So the ‘loser’ label is somewhat warranted.
Still a bit unfair to apply this to the poor troll whose demise resulted from an encounter with a party of level-appropriate adventurers. Nasty critters, adventurers. You never know what they have in their pockets. Torches, smiting implements, acid-filled nerf guns…
