His primary fighting style is to rely on toughness and armor a bit and then strike with one clean, powerful, cutting blow. His rhetorical style is pretty much the same.

I also don’t recall a scorpion-like aspect to his personality or style being played up either. Was it something that was intended but never followed up on, or did he just pick up the shield at a used armor dealer and cared more about how it functioned than how it looked?
