I sort of agree that this is almost a diplomatic exit. He could have tried to kill Penk, or take over the army. At best, he could have just walked. But he and his spent the night hunting for their former allies. I don’t think he “likes” the Coalition or Penk but he respects them enough and has decided that an amicable departure serves best everybody.

The fact that the land sharks were the food suppliers for the other races was established almost as soon as it was revealed that they were a part of the rebellion; chapter 8 page 8 shows two land sharks bringing prey to a gnoll family, and I’m pretty sure it was also mentioned in a conversation somewhere (but I don’t remember exactly where, and I’m not going to archive binge to find it).

I didn’t notice on my first read (or don’t remember it at any rate) that Harky’s remains are being taken from the arena on a stretcher.

Do Troll leaders, or other influential individuals, receive any kind of special burial? I don’t remember if there’s anything coming up relating to it.
