So I’m thinking that when Sundar and sundry other adventurers roll up on this thing’s tail, there’s going to be a pretty interesting confrontation. Hopefully the mutual threat will keep our various heroes from each other’s throats long enough for some solid diplomacy.

Who am I kidding? Frigg’s going along.

They could always- wait until the monster has killed most of the horde, Then strike when it’ll be weak… from all that digestion. Yeah.

Frigg’s probably not gonna bite at that one, either.

        She would get CONCESSIONS.

Weird wildlife trivia: Hyenas are actually Carnivora Feliformia, making them more closely related to cats than to dogs (who all fall under Carnivora Caniformia).

Mmhm, though oddly, lions seem to instinctually hste hyenas. The tend to attack on sight, though they never eat them.

Well, that’s a mutual relationship, with packs of hyenas constantly harassing and attempting to eliminate any solitary lions they can, and the lions taking out any hyenas who get too close to the jaws. Oh, and I’ve seen a documentary in which an alpha male lion killed and ate an alpha female hyena that was leading an attack on one of his females and cub. Perhaps you can find it online.

so the cultists summoned a monster that “deletes” people.

Which makes me think, are the cultists working with someone to try and get the “game” shut down because of the insanely illegal things they’re doing or I don’t know my brain hurts right now.

Hmm… I’m to wait to see how the author/story-teller of this comic squares the circle on this one.

Yes, H.R. gave this entity (I’m gonna classify it as a virus) a place in the game, *but* I don’t think H.R., given how much he’s invested (time & effort) in Arkana, knowingly unleashed the equivalent of Stuxnet into his creation.

Unless… he’s decided to hop on board the Crazy Train. (I’m not ruling that out, btw….)

Anyone else notice that deletion is going from an unrefined/course triangular mesh to a refined square mesh then nothing? –Logically the square mesh is capable of more detail and easier to represent, why would someone cake on the triangular overlay?
Maybe the system allows for simpler/quick generation of skins and clothing for possible user generated content wow allowing for refinement later?? But still, seems inefficient to slap on meshes like that =/

Actually, I think it is the other way around. Check the dwarf’s hands in panel 3, they are the last things to go and are only just turning into the triangular mesh. Meanwhile the arm is all the way down to square mesh, the final step before deletion.

The way I read it is that the green mesh is not part of the game’s graphics. It’s more like a visual representation of the underlying code. Like when Neo first ‘sees’ the Matrix as code, but in the shapes of the things he’s looking at, or in The Thirteenth Floor when Doug goes to the ‘edge of the world’.

Man looking back, well forward I guess, at these old comics makes me realize I wasn’t as active in commenting as I would have liked to have been…..probably busy with school or work or life or a combo of all 3. I need to rectify this in the future. Also I just realized in a previous comment that our GA avatars are linked to the e-mail we use to make said comments. I have a gmail and a yahoo account so two separate GA avatars. Also I’m going back to posting under my original name of MonkTHAC0 instead of the one I’ve been using since restarting GA, TurnerBurner. Also I did make another comment under the name of TurnerBurner1 using my yahoo e-mail so all 3 are me. MonkTHAC0, TurnerBurner and TurnerBurner1…….and I think that’s all of the names I care to come up with.
