The World’s Rebellion gathered power because they wanted to end conflict.

The Gastonian Alliance gathered power because they wanted to end conflict because they wanted to stay in power.

At least that’s Frigg’s story. It really only works if you compare the human leaders to the gnoll/avian leaders. The other savage races were singing a very different tune a few weeks before this battle, while the gnomes and sky elves really did just want peace. And obviously there was a lot more going on as well. War is complicated, and politics are complicated, and Frigg is not good with complicated ideas.

I think you are misunderstanding. After all, the allied armies amassed an impressive–in fact, ultimately overwhelming–amount of power. But theirs was power gathered for a purpose and that purpose was peace. Peace brought upon by fighting and defeating an opposing power who offered an unreasonable choice: be subservient or be killed. Gastonia’s “Peace” was merely a rhetoric drafted during already peaceful times to excuse the gathering of power meant solely to amass even more power, by taking it from others. That’s the “peace in behalf of power” that Frigg is talking about.
