Nah, just a nightmare, everybody was alive and questionably healthy on the back of some panels back then, mostly the tubes were just solid blocks for, you know, cutting the artist some slack once in a while.

H.R. said the sepia world is dying.

Maybe, in this nightmare she imagine her world merely deleted

A very bare bones page today, definitely a sharp drop compared to earlier showings.

The quality certainly is plummeting. I’m in the dark over what could have happened.

Just a skeleton of a plot today.

It sounds like Carol’s subconscious has a bone to pick with her.

She keeps falling for those reminders of the skeletons in her closet.

The only real advancement of the plot today is to emphasize that:
      “Yep, they’re boned.”
      ~Oft-used quote from Futurama

Scary. Really scary nightmare sequence. This is possibly the most effective horror piece that this comic has ever done. Though the JJ murder of the gamer girl was nervy also.

Festering fungi! Technically, I lost my bet of 6 bigfoot hairs from last page, but I can guarantee the next page one or two pages has this shown to be just a nightmare of Carol’s. Double or nothing, I’m get those hairs back!

A thought I had a day or so ago based on this nightmare sequence:

What if the Tubed 5 can’t be freed anymore, one way or another? :-( What if they WILL end up dead at the end of the story, at least from the side of Sepia World? :-(

It’s times like this when only the wisdom of Weird Al Yankovic can shine through.

“And I’m falling, and falling, and I guess you know the rest / I’m stuck in a closet with Vanna White.”

I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in. Yeah, oh yeah…saw myself falling down a deep dark hole while I was crawling out.

If this whole comic ends up just being a long, drawn-out dream, I’m going to be kinda pissed.

What an amazing sequence. Makes me ask myself a question I haven’t really considered until now:

How much of what she’s done is a result of psychological manipulation by HR, and how much of it is her own lack of morality/compassion? I’m starting to suspect more of the former after this. She seems genuinely horrified and it seems HR has twisted her sense of loyalty to keep her trapped in all this. Especially with the sequence’s emphasis on their relationship, his gratefulness to her, how bright and cheerful everything seemed until she was suddenly shocked with the ‘revelation’ of what they were doing. And with all the “this is all because of you”, now she’s trapped with it, she can’t stop any of it because it’s all her fault.

I wonder if there’s any way for her to turn all this in to the police without like, life in prison? If this really is a result of psychological manipulation maybe she can get a lighter sentence by realizing how awful this is and turning the whole thing in to the authorities? Some sort of whistle-blower clause, maybe? I’m not very well-informed about this kind of stuff lol.

Suddenly the sepia world appears to be more unreal than … uh…which one is the *real* one again?
