It does seem to me like she’s not being serious about it, but I never thought of it as a dig at Byron before. Just that she was having fun with the idea.

Then again, her hidden resentment of Byron is hidden well enough that I really never picked up on it before it came to light later down the line. At the time, I thought she was like everyone else – she’d expressed her discomfort with his curse and moved on.

Yeah, that sounds plausible. I didn’t get it and I’m relieved that I’m with the majority on this one, but yes – we could have gotten it.

And if I don’t see another, it was an excellent one to go out on. I know work had started on a sequel but I don’t know what’s become of it post-COVID.

Doesn’t even remotely feel like a stab at Byron to me either. Just like “a weird adventurer thing” that Syr’nj doens’t get and Byron finds too “normal” to understand why Syr’nj is getting weirded out.

That reminds me... I didn't mention it when I originally listed my "cast list" for Guilded Age, but I think Chris Evans would be terrific as Best.
