A Game To Die For
Far be it from us to go completely updateless in between story chunks, we told John to basically do whatever the Hell he wants for today and Friday! He deserves it, don’tcha think? I love the Hell out of this, maybe we’ll turn it into prints!
No wonder the singular of dice is “die” and what with the rolling thereof.
Well this does not seem like a pair o dice to them right now.
I expect you to die, Mr. Gravedust!
Appropriate avatar is surprisingly appropriate.
Snowblind strikes with surprisingly appropriate avatar – it’s Super Effective!
Sooo…
Apparently god *does* roll dice with the universe…At least with the GA universe.
Huh? Greek to me…
Roman! Slow down and just think about it….
Roman stones gather no moss.
Mossy stones gather no Romans.
Yikes! Looks like UVA isn’t the only ones being treated badly by Rolling Stone!
Only fitting that the Rolling Stone is about to be buried under a land slide of lawsuits heading their way.
Dies fall, everybody rocks.
Only if they pull a Jerry Holkins and rolls 1s back to back.

It’s in season 2 btw. Also you get to experience Wil Weaton’s legendary groin punch in action!
Best cast ye not a stone, unless ye cast Best, in this, the best cast among the casting of stones! :o
Well hello there, Ptolemaic and handsome. You looking to roll, or just something Platonic?
Those dice are more tectonic than platonic.
Looks like ole Gravedust is about to get a critical hit.
They see me rock-rollin’. They hatin’.
Gravedust went to the Prometheus school of running away from things?
Seems like lots of folks did. Prometheus U. probably has very low entrance standards.
“Roll to hit.”
“I rolled a triangle.”
“WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?”
Maybe it means H.R. draws his powers from the ancient Egyptians who were hardcore when it came to D&D. None of those cheap plastic dice for them – http://www.cnet.com/news/ancient-d20-die-emerges-from-the-ashes-of-time/
Let’s not forget those enormous d4s they left in the desert…
D5s. No fair dice.
Definitely not even odds, no.
They are used like dreidels.
Well the Jewish slaves did help build them after all.
Oh, man. I totally blew that one.
So you blow on your dice for luck before you roll them?
Huh! You know the 20 on the right has its Greek characters drawn on in the same relative positions as the photo of the Egyptian d20 in the article you linked!
If you’re not dead it means it was a decent roll.
If you’re not injured it means it was a good roll.
If it bashes into another dice boulder stopping it or smashing it to bits it was a great roll.
If it ricochets off every other dice boulder still in play, stopping them, without harming anyone else in your party it was a natural 20.
If it smashes into a nearby dice boulder which breaks off a piece that glances off the side of Frigg’s skull who when she recovers from the daze suddenly declares she is the “Game Macdaddy” and every Player who is a player is going to learn G.M. don’t play dat then attempts to use glowy hammer shit to herd all party members into the path of the dice boulders screaming, “Don’t like my rails then you gonna hate the train! CHO CHOOOO!” it means it was a natural 1.
I agree. This would make a pretty awesome print.
Is the final Raid Boss a D1000?
Well it won’t be a moon, but about the size of one.
“That’s no moon. That’s a d100.”
i like how you guys used the recently discovered ancient d20s
Yes! http://www.cnet.com/news/ancient-d20-die-emerges-from-the-ashes-of-time/
Interesting. It’s even about the same size as a modern d20, and, aside from the characters used, the engraved, colored characters look very modern as well.
Dice-making goes back a long way, so I suppose those features may have been standardized a long, long time ago. I have to wonder, though, if this could turn out to be a hoax.
A doubt very much that this could be a Hoax. Estimating/testing for the age of artefacts is quite reliable nowadays and in this case a hoax would have to be planned for … well, I think longer than D20s are prevalent in modern times. (It belonged to a collection of items acquired more than 100 years ago.)
I missed Frigg. Nice to see her again.
If she doesn’t find a safe way off that die, you won’t see her for much longer either.
This one really rocks it.
Oh, how the D20 rolls, slaying dragons or crushing your bones.
Oh how the d20 rolls, outwitting kings or in dungeons in throes.
