Anno Brittany Michel
While the webcomic Snow By Night continues its tale of a wandering winter spirit on a slightly sporadic scene-by-scene basis, Brittany Michel has moved on after serving as artist for its first two volumes. These days, she has representation on Etsy, Patreon, YouTube, Facebook, and Tumblr.
Whew! I post to Twitter like once a month, and I don’t even remember the last time I wrote a Facebook post longer than four words. Newer social media just seems like a chore to me these days. I’m a firm believer in using the tools available to you in the moment, but in order to really use today’s platforms and not feel like they were using me, I’d need to bring a passionate energy to them, and right now my passion is elsewhere. I’m at work on a large, ambitious non-comics project that benefits from being behind the veil, so being social-media-antisocial is an asset, at the moment. I’ll use those old channels to announce it when it’s finally finished. The only other avenue I need to share personal anecdotes is what you’re reading now, really.
Re social media: Same!
Re Snow By Night: A very cool webcomic — I’m glad you guys indirectly turned me on to it (it was in the same Storybundle package with Guilded Age) — that unfortunately seems to be going through another artist transition at the moment. Hope it’s back soon!
Oooh, a mystery project! Those are always fun.
I found early on that social media was way more work than I was interested in putting in. I didn’t have anything to say that even I found interesting. I was also learning far more about family and friends than I wanted to know; TMI overload.
It seems many people are occupied documenting what they’re doing at the expense of actually doing anything.
Also, it seems that the price of all that “free” social media is a society-wide descent into political self-harm and hatred of the kind that will not be satisfied until a great many people are killed.
This has always been one of my favorite Frigg pics.
