Annotated 18-5
Alternately, BADA-BING, BADA BUM BUM BUM.
Not everyone noticed Penk in the first panel, but you better believe he’s beating the hell out of those drums now that they’re driving people to actual war.
Axtanks, the inevitable consequence of dealing with unscrupulous weapons manufacturers who realize their best path to the status they desire is to supply both sides of the conflict.
Nice use of horizontals.
No, come on, alt text, the sound is clearly ON, here.
I thought the Goblins invented the ax tanks, but they’re just the manufacturers.
Big bada-boom!
That’s why I only have one point left on my license.
You should get yourself a multi-pass then.
One point on a license? Interesting. I had heard that Borderlands 3 pricing structure was different then the previous games. Is it subscription based now or something?
???
You know we’re not talking about Borderlands, right? I don’t play that game myself, so I’m not sure if you’re making a joke that’s over my head, or if *our* shared joke went over *your* head. (And yes, I’m aware that the rocket launcher image is from Borderlands.)
Thanks. I was wondering what that was.
I didn’t know myself at first, but if you mouseover the image you can see that it’s labeled “Rocket_Launcher_Bandit_Badaboom”, and Googling those words reveals the source. That’s how I’ve identified most of the images I don’t recognize.
Funnily, the Badaboom rocket launcher is a reference to The Fifth Element. The flavourtext is ‘Multi-kill’ in reference to ‘Multi-Pass’.
Does it have a little red bottom on the bottom?
*button
I assumed the alt text was referring to the last panel. Whacking down a tree in a single blow and sending it flying like that would be *loud*. Obviously HR turned the sound off to save his eardrums at that point.
From https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sound%20off:
Definition of sound off
intransitive verb
1 : to play three chords before and after marching up and down a line of troops during a ceremonial parade or formal guard mount
2 : to count cadence while marching
3a : to speak up in a loud voice
3b : to voice one’s opinions freely and vigorously
I assumed this was a combination of 2 and 3, i.e., “to voice one’s opinions (of the elves and their forest) freely and vigorously by loudly counting (beating) cadence while marching.”
Wait, did Mich and Franz sell those axetanks to the Rebellion? Not that I doubt they would, given the chance, but I didn’t think Gastonia would give them the chance.
The whole timeline on their weapons dealing seems odd to me, but I’d buy prototype designs making their way to the Goblins before the Gnomes got nicked.
