Annotated 25-7
Phil argued this page into existence, and was probably right to. After the victory of the last chapter, we needed a little time for most of the cast to just… be, without any insurrections, armies, or monsters to fight: otherwise, it wouldn’t have felt like that victory really meant what it should mean.
Byron’s newfound fame is also important to reinforce, as it will affect a couple of later arcs.
We also discussed Gravedust’s line a fair bit. I agree with Phil that petty jealousy isn’t normally on-brand for Gravedust. But short-term grouchiness is, so I think it works as a one-off gag, though it’d be too much for a running one.
I just got the joke with “it’s weird to have a title that goes before Byron” right now LOL
Oh Lord, how droll.
Wait, that’s a joke? I think I’m missing it….
A poor marksman blames his arrows.
Thought Gravedust joke was appropriate considering we never seen him miss his mark. They are all adventures so a little bravado is called for. Hell, the third Expendables had similar joke twice.
I always got the sense Gravedust was making an excuse to excuse the fact that he let Byron win, knowing it would be both beneficial and necessary to start feeling in command again.
