You can see how it’d be less predictable, and you could have assumed Frigg’s decision just from her actions. But without that prior page, you wouldn’t have gotten the details of Frigg and Rachel’s joint decision-making process, that little snapshot of their relationship, a moment that will soon lend weight to [REDACTED]

Of course Frigg practices percussive maintenance on machines she doesn’t understand until they break or start working by dumb luck. This should not be a surprise.
I was just thinking that before reading the comic. As a comedic beat it flows without the middle page, but as a character beat it adds a lot. You need Rachel to be more of a participant than a fangirl tag-along in this choice.
