Minor changes: panel 1 had Bandit be the one to remark upon the nuns’ approach with “Aw, sparksprockets.” I like both expletives, though “sprocketsparks” would’ve been better, probably.
The alt text here used to be SFX, and, like many pages in this chapter, it was scripted as fewer panels.
And finally, Frigg’s feat of strength here was originally going to be more impressive, but I was envisioning more of an elaborate trap from which the others would free her, which she could then lift. Continuing the Christ metaphor, imagine Jesus getting released from the cross, then ripping it out of the ground and beating the Roman soldiers with it.
That was the Total Testament, which was published in 1990.
