Annotated 6-16
Compensating for the fact that swinging a pipe once isn’t that impressive, Erica added some more savagery into the first couple of panels here.
I like the moment of vulnerability as Scarlett lies more or less helpless. As you may remember, Frigg cracked her rib and Gravedust further aggravated the injury, so it’s entirely realistic that she can’t get up at this point.
Priestlord Gigundus. Well. He’s a pretty obvious metaphor, isn’t he? The God who isn’t really there, who’s also a Pope who still isn’t really there. For a self-avowed agnostic, I’ve always held faith somewhere close to my heart, which is why I reserve a special anger for those who abuse it.

I don’t think it need clarification. After panel two here I wonder if Syr’Nj’s question is to Frigg or Scarlett. That panel looks like “SPLAT” should be in there somewhere.
Nah, Frigg’s beatdown was directed at some other nuns here, likely the ones that had her, Bandit and Syr surrounded on the previous page. Scarlet is a little distance away, most likely still lying where Gravedust hit her.
In fact, in the “no…” panel, you can see the silhouettes of Frigg (hunched one), Syr’Nj (tall one) and Bandit (small one, big surprise there =D ) in the background, indicating that they’re a short distance away even as Frigg takes her breather.
Oh shit man, you’re right the one getting crushed isn’t Scarlett. I thought they just had made distance and Frigg was hunched because she was basically limping all beaten up. Thanks for the clearer picture. I think this is like the second or third time I make this mistake, I think Scarlett having a bit of a more distinctive look would’ve helped a little bit. I know she’s differentm though, but a bit subtle for me, I guess.
Things I Didn’t Notice The First Time: You can actually see Scarlett is throwing her voice there, can’t you? Is that obvious? Should I have noticed?
*goes to look at the original comic*
None of the commenters there seemed to have noticed. So I don’t have to feel stupid, I guess. And since T didn’t mention it in the annotations, I have to ask if it was even intentional, or if it just looks like she’s ever-so-slightly moving her lips by pure coincidence?
It’s a still image– she definitely isn’t moving her lips. If it were intended to imply that she was, for some reason I can’t imagine at the moment, I think it probably would’ve been indicated more capably.
It wasn’t something we put in the script, though Erica definitely knew the secret of Gigundus before he appeared, so I can’t say she definitely wasn’t trying to render Scarlett as ventriloquizing there. Just looks like a reassured smile to me, though.
