Guest Week 2011 – Jason Meador
Today’s strip is brought to us by returning guest comicker, Jason Meador! Jason’s entry provides us a hilarious and strangely gratifying alternate ending for the opening of Chapter 6.
Come back this Saturday and Sunday for a pair of super special guest strips!
WIN. Epic and total.
Make this Canon, I so demand.
I agree. Awesome.
thirded
Y’know, we never actually got to see what finally prompted the Savage Races to kick off the shootin’ war…
i am joining in on this demand!
Weird. I’m connected before the comic is displaying. Well I guess it will look as good as usual…
Archery: Don’t try it before you nock it.
Gravy shot first.
Oh, hey, it’s more art by the “Post-Traumatic Stress Flashback Byron” guy! I like his work!
Also, I’ve played too much Dungeons of Dredmor. The knowledge that Gravy probably just aggro’d a small army is making me hear “Monster Zoo” music. XD
Is it just me or is the panel order messed up?
It reads in a Z-shape. If you’re looking in 3 tiers of left-to-right it’s gonna look weird.
I had some trouble reading it for a bit. D: But it’s a Z shape, indeed. :3 -nods-
Gravedust cannot permit violence to the Jolly Green Giant’s much smaller cousin.
haha I love the WTF look on their faces! XD
I love that bandit is hiding more an dmore behind that tree in each panel
I prefer the look on Gravedust’s face. Unfortunately reminds me of the end of the horrible Cry For Justice comic run in the DC universe, but still awesome.
Frigg especially.
And Gravedust is just as funny as he was at the comedy club.
“Whoops!” now someone ought to trademark that response!
“Whoops.. didn’t cast misdirect. “
Brilliant!
I love Bandit hanging up the tree, and Gravedust’s ever-solemn look in the face of a major goof-up.
You know what they say about pointing guns and using it? Well that goes double in archery.
must I be the only one to say “Boom. Headshot”.
“Hahaha!! Cry some more!” :D
Gravedust: Lawful Good and loving it.
“A ghost made me do it.”
This is excellent. It’s funny, the art is gorgeous, and I really really wish it was an official retcon.
Gravedust is left-handed?
Major advantage of a straight-grip bow: you can rest an arrow on either side, so it can be fired right- or left-handed as the tactical situation demands.
…The “tactical situation” in this case being that I penciled that panel with Gravedust reversed, and didn’t realize until I was inking it that it looked like he was shooting in a completely different direction from where everyone else was looking. It would have broken the visual flow to rearrange the panel, and he’s not as visually interesting from behind (as he’d appear if he were firing right-handed), so… HUZZAH! Flip the pencils and now he’s firin’ lefty!
HAY GUYZ IT TURNS OUT ARTISTS ARE KINDA LAZY
Orrr…. It could be the whole “Inigo Montoya” thing (“…but I’m not really left-handed…”), and artistic license etc. ;)
At least the stance is correct.. He’s not gonna punch himself in the face releasing the bowstring.
‘Though getting that beard caught is a frightful hazard! >shudder< owies!
(And no, I am not quoting accurately unless by accident. I have not memorised "The Princess Bride.")
My favorite part of the panel has to be the sad-puppy-dog look on Byron’s face. Like he was going “Awww, I wanted to be the one to kick Harky’s ass…”
If Best had done he would get hated for it.^^
