But honestly, these designs and those landscapes would be the kind of thing I could actually see someone getting painted onto their car, sorta like those Dragon Ball designs that crop up once in a while.
Just imagine that Graiya panel on the hood of someone’s car, or Insanity Wolf enveloping the sides with those symbols glowing all over like some godly flames, but way cooler (and probably making the car run angrier)
Frigg’s dream is one of my favorite bits of Guilded Age, art and storywise. The art really does powerfully convey that she was defiant, in the best possible way. She would stand up for what’s right, for others, for herself, and not be defeated, never give up. Then in the Frigg wakes panels, we see her humanity and vulnerability too. I’m at the start of a new chapter in my own life and have been wanting to put a picture of a woman leaping bravely up on my office wall. Frigg might do nicely. Byron’s player’s speech to Syr’nj’s player as they were getting ready to try something strange and new fits too although it doesn’t have that same epic leaping imagery.
Ah, I get your plan with these. You know that I can’t resist going back through and rereading these chapters if you keep showing me these snippets behind the scenes of some of my favorite chapters. Well jokes on you! I will just reread all of Guilded Age, that’ll show you!
Should we have a coloring contest to see who can color this best.
I’ve always wanted to ask a world famous artist to color using the crayons and kids pages from restaurants and try to make art better than a 5 year old.
Maybe we could judge them in categories, crayon, pencil, paint, computer?
The first one takes me back. I was bewildered, still not knowing what to make of this strange new story that seemed so straightforward a while ago. The scene skip to the golem sentries is still one of my favorite funny moments. Even so, I stopped reading shortly after this. I was still afraid that Arkerra would cease to exist, and if it did, I didn’t want to get any more invested in the characters than I already was.
By the second one, I had cast all my doubts aside, and I’m so very glad I did. I remember this page very well. Not just because of Insanity Wolf, but because for some reason I found it absolutely hilarious that instead of screaming “AAAAAAAAH!!!” like normal people would in a situation like this, Frigg would scream “MOTHAFUCKS!” ^_^
The third one… is just beautiful. Well, they all are.
These are super cool!

Oh no, I’ve turned into a cranky old man-atar!
Have the avatars mysteriously reset again? Or is my browser acting up something fierce?
Better than a cranky old manatee.
**I must not re-read those chapters. I must resist.**
….
Resistance is futile!
** loses one hour **
IF YOUR OWN THOUGHTS ASSAIL YOU…
DEFEAT THEM WITHOUT MERCY.
YOU ARE DESTINED FOR DEFIANCE.
WHEN JUSTICE FAILS TO PUNISH, PUNISH JUSTICE
Alt-text is right. These epic panels WOULD look pretty sweet, airbrushed onto the side of a van.

The whole ‘sacrifice a bough to Graiya’ thing was awesome, and I’m stealing it for D&D.

Beautiful!
The Frigg vs. Wolf God was one of my favorite images in the comic too.
