Ah yes, the drowning deathtrap. Menacing enough to be a credible threat to our heroes, but slow enough to allow them to escape and shut down the charmingly-accented villain’s three-hour gunpowder missile countdown.

I take these are vignette’s of adventuring with the party interspersed amongst the main narrative?

I love this comic jumps right into the action. Some spend entire chapters just setting things up. Keep it up, this is great!

That’s because some of us prefer to have pesky things work so cause is before effect and such.

This particular cell is located at the bottom of a steeply sloping hallway. So the cell and its occupants can be easily drowned in a pocket of the dungeon without affecting the rest.

Perhaps there is a set of stone steps going up to a door, above head height on the far side?

Wouldn’t absorbing the water be useless? The same amount of space will be occupied by the water no matter if it is in her “roots” or not, because her volume will increase when she absorbs it.

Maybe it is elf metabolism. Also, she said one liter, out of the hundreds already in the room and soon to be thousands. So absorbing one would already be useless, even if it went to the moon.

I think they’re more like camels, or I guess if we’re sticking with the plant theme- cacti.

Camels just drink a whole load of water at once – humans are only capable of safely ingesting about 1.2 litres (my friend once skulled that much. Then found out about the 1.2L thing in the science class after)… anyways, this probably isn’t what you meant, but in the humps camels just store fat. *shrug*

So wait, does that plant thing go for all elves, or just the wood elves?

Evil Overlord Rule # 1 : If I have the adventurers at my mercy, I will shoot them at once. I will not build an unnecessarily complicated trap which they will have plenty of time to get out of.

To crawl up the often cavernous walls of the tombs I rob for foodstuffs. That’s why I have toes. But why I have toes is not important. I asked why THEY have toes.

Just found the place – cracking webcomic, Gromit. I love the artwork… not so insanely detailed that you’ll miss your post dates the first time you chip a nail. And great narrative… one to watch.
