It is not polite to ask them to make you some chocolate, and some of the more magical elves might interpret that request too literally.

I think the Feral Dog thing is a bit of propogranda/bias on whoevers writing this as a degrotary information.. Who is by the contex of the last page Gastonian and human. Also you can tell by the Author’s use of “our great civilization” etc.

I donno…he did refute the bats thing in favor of boddymodification on the level of south american skullbinding.

if he hated elves bats are worse than dogs. bats steal our blood, dogs are our buddies.

Uh, yeah. They say right below that it’s written for Gastonian children. What wonderful educational material.

Gastonian children must be much smarter than I thought.

Some of the words in that book are not exactly ones I would consider children’s fare. At least…below 12 I guess?

Fun fact : Sarcasm isn’t difficult to detect in text-form. Some people are just text-challenged.

Compared to trying to gauge sincerity in regular, in-person conversation, it is piss-easy.

And then the Gastonian council wonders why it’s so hard for them to ally themselves with the other races. Oh I DON’T KNOW, maybe because Gastonia is the equivalent to Rome?

Yea, Rome seemed to let anyone of any race be a citizen if they fit their criteria. True it wasn’t quite a melting pot but still they seem to be a bit more accepting than Gastonia is.

Rome was pretty good about letting other people into Rome. You just had to speak Roman out in public and pay honor to their god(s). You technically didn’t even have to really worship them, just act like you did.

You didn’t even have to do that really, the Romans weren’t all that serious about religion. They persecuted the Christians because they were a nuisance, not because they were heathens.

I like the way (perhaps not like personally) our lovely gastonians refer to themselves as “Humanity” and not “Humans”, as though they are the supreme beings (of course!) Elves are downgraded to something equal to dogs. “Dogs, Monkeys, Elves. Meh, what’s the difference”

Dogs are cute, and guard our houses.
Monkeys are funny, and pick our tea.
      Elves think they’re SOOOO cool.
Arkerra can do with out them.
