Annotated 15-19
I like how John sorta tilts Rachel’s mouth in panel 1, in a way only cartoon physics will allow, to show that she’s ever so briefly hiding her smile from E-Merl. Sure can’t blame this on the sillibus: Rachel’s playfulness has walked hand in hand with her devotion almost since she joined the cast.
The last tier of panels here is very Phil.
Phil’s responsible for most of this twelve-page block, in fact (I didn’t give him many notes this time), but E-Merl’s stumble could easily have been based on certain exchanges early in my own dating history (if you’d even call those “dates”). He’s doing a lot of things right, but the self-confidence he needs to create a relaxed vibe with Rachel is still escaping him.
You mentioned ways in which Rachel is (or isn’t) affected by the sillibus. It seems to me that “not wearing her habit up” may be one of them.
Just wait for her actions in panel one of the next comic. You’ll see.
(Or have already seen, in the archived originals.)
Cue the Jimi Hendrix!
Those last 4 panels always makes me laugh
He better start using conjure snackies though because the bag is entirely empty from what we see in panel 1.
Re: hovertext: you don’t want to be in like-likes. They can eat your shield.
You ninja, you! I came here to say that!
I actually felt a little lonely because nobody had said it yet, so I’ll split my internet points with you. ^_^
