Annotated 22-2
Amidst the battle, a brown-skinned human and a troll clash weapons fiercely. The human’s name is ASHOK, and the Troll’s name is ULAK. Since they are characters with names, it is important that they are distinct in appearance, especially as we’ll be with them for most the chapter altogether. Ashok would look Indian as his name implies, if there were any such land as “India” in Arkerra. Ulak has an especially pronounced underbite for a troll, and his teeth are janked up besides: he is ugly by troll or human standards. They’re wearing the higher-end versions of their military outfits: they’re basically around sergeant level, with SOME degree of authority and influence but not so much that it’d be a big disruption if they went missing for a while.. Both use swords: Ashok a well-made but slightly short model and Ulak a sword made from the tusk of some exotic animal from deep in the Savage lands, perhaps another neo-dinosaur like the Brontothrasher. Ashok MUST have a HAVERSACK on his back.
Tried to tweak some dialogue here and there, but in a mark of how distracted I was, I missed the point of the original gag, so this ended up being not too far removed from Phil’s first draft.
Surprised that the Grassy Gnolls don’t have a lone gunman
I’d completely forgotten this is how these two were introduced.
Just kiss already!!
That first panel reminds me of the box art of Warcraft II
