Annotated 44-15
Yeah, it’s much more effective for Frigg to be the one who brings Rachel up, and John does a fantastic job with her expressions on this page. Only the last panel is full rage: the other two show varying levels of vulnerability: there’s uncertainty in panel 1 and outright hurt in panel 3.
Frigg has destroyed her armor to replace it with her power, but it’ll reappear later. This started with Frigg falling from the mountain, but she’ll later find she’s just outside the winter elf village. But I don’t think this is all just a dream or vision, exactly. Perhaps we’re close now to that Realm of Being that HR was going on about.
Hey, would you like to see even more gods designed by John Waltrip? Take a look at these!
FB: This twilight sparkle is Frigg, demanding this being of Discord tell her why friendship is tragic.
Her armor being ‘destroyed’ and replace with magical version while also powering up with a speech is just clearly a magical girl thing, so her having ‘normal’ clothing at the end with an off screen transition is also entirely in-genre with this magical girl transformation.
Not that the conservation of matter was ever such a big concern since the first Resurrection.
You’re not wrong, but I dare you to say “magical girl” to Frigg’s face.
