Annotated 8-15
Nice reversion back out of Bandit’s perspective in the first few frames.
I think I added the monosyllable dialogue to the last panel of this page.
That alt text reminds me, not for the first or last time in Guilded Age, how much my attitude (and Phil’s too) has changed about trolls (the human online kind) since we first rolled out Frigg using 4chan as our character model. It just all seemed more harmless back then, y’know?
Alt-text only reads “Annotated 8-15” to me, I’m afraid.
Ha ha ha, isn’t that hilarious? Boy, those alt-text in jokes get better every time. (Reads the same to me :p)
“Annotated 8-15”? Funny, but maybe a bit too obscure a reference for most people. :-)
The original text was “insert obvious 4chan troll/HYDRA comparison here”
Man, I really could have sworn I put all the alt text in this time. I’m wondering if there’s some technical problem. Anyway, should be fixed now.
Got any ideas on a way to read the alt text on mobile?
I’ve always wondered just how troll regeneration is supposed to work… I mean with most real-world creatures you either need to provide things like tendons with some way for the ends to find each other (like stitches) or chop off the entire limb and let it regrow itself from scratch.
Harky’s tendons, by contrast, automatically know to stretch out, find each other, fuse back together, and then shrink back to a usable length. It’s impressive to say the least. Troll DNA must be a chemical supercomputer compared to anything currently living on our planet.
I would say that each cell of creatures with (trollish) regeneration and/or healing factors (Deadpool/Wolverine) has a blueprint to the entire body, and will move and/ore duplicate in a cohesive manner with other cells to heal in a manner that eliminates the need for surgery while also retaining muscle strength with only light to moderate loss of memory (if brain) and/or muscle memory/coordination.
As long as there are enough cells to replicate fast enough to prevent all the cells from dieing at the same time and have enough reserve cellular energy/mass they will heal. Needing more calories than normal is a requirement of both healing factors and regeneration, although healing factors require barely more than normal and also retain strength, muscle memory and coordination almost entirely, where as regeneration causes a moderate to serious loss for a short to long period of time depending on wound seriousness.
TIL : Trolls are fractal
It’s obvious, once you think about it.
The REAL question remains why they don’t get duplicated whenever a body part is cut off.
Starfish trolls… Now there’s an idea…
