I’m sure there are people out there who would be horrified to know I have a daughter.
I totally met my ex-wife through roleplaying. That said… it wasn’t roleplaying a romance. We only roleplayed friends at the time.
It comes across as an awkward interruption. And yet, the whole scene is about how the roleplayed fantasy characters were a conduit for genuine relationships. So Cassie showing up with a present is actually a perfectly appropriate response to Lia’s loss.
Any furry would like to have a fur slave…After all, not all of them are flexible enough to get shampoo everywhere they have fur & *somebody* has to tend to it.
I have found that links to the GA site itself pass through the spam filter if they’re written without the domain name, like so: /comic/chapter-33-page-14/
It was always the plan to get Chrissie there, and virtually my sole regret about ending QUILTBAG earlier than planned was leaving her in the place I did. This is a second chance I’ve been building to for quite a while.
Seriously, a diner with tabletop jukeboxes AND wi-fi? Awesome!
Hopefully their menu is just as good. I’m seeing a lot of empties, and only one other occupied table. (Behind Daniel’s speech bubbles, panel one)
Just wanted to say I FUCKING LOVE how you have a token man in this troupe. You’ve also taken the trope of someone playing across their gender and enjoying it far too much, but instead of making it a pervy man, it’s a pervy woman.
That is my usual excuse. I make what I want to see, rather than what I want to be.
That aside though, my excuse tends to be different in multiplayer games. I generally play female characters and frequently pretend to be female in multiplayer games simply because it makes it easier to get PUGs.
Plus there was that time in Phantasy Star Online where I logged on as one of my most blatantly female characters because I was depressed and just wanted to offload the feels on a random stranger (which is easier to do when pretend to be a XXer).
Well… it was. His heart was crushed and turned to dust, in panel 5.
I don’t think Lia realizes how Daniel’s taking what she’s saying, so there’s a chance that the good ship DanieLia is still afloat, even if he thinks it just hit an iceberg and went straight down.
It’s the 30 pieces of silver that she got for tipping off the location of the Axemas party to JJ. She’s gonna be stunned, when she sees her friends gunned down in a senseless drive-by shooting. ;)
That ornament on the cover was only the first casualty.
Ok, now I get it. They might tell the remaining three. Could happen. Probably will happen, since E’merl wasn’t part of the team. This will be interesting…
Lia’s cynicsm is, well, it’s well founded, but it’s also painful to see. Having been a longtime player of WoW, I can definitely know the feels behind putting a lot of yourself into your main (somethingsomethingdruidsandRPserverssomethingsomething..). It makes me sad that her current mood is blinding her to something obvious though. The fact that she’s sitting there with good friends who’ve come to help her out in what is clearly (for her) a tough time is proof that she’s got more than she thinks out of it.
The whole “virtual world mixing with the real world” thing is ridiculously fascinating to me, especially since it’s only going to get more and more pronounced as virtual worlds become more and more convincing.
God, I love you Bandit, I mean Kaye… Nice to see you’re still the same person, sorta!
Interesting that Rachel’s wisdom did come from someone a few years older.
Wouldn’t bandit be chrissie? Bandit’s the one that left to get something from the car, which would make her chrissie. Kaye is Scipio.
whoops, names!
Dat kat.
Dat fat kat.
What is in that ENVELOPE!?
Chekov’s envelope?
It might be a McGuffin.
…A tasty, tasty, egg McGuffin with cheese sounds good right now…
She may already be a winner!
Ughhh he’s so arrogant looking, I just want to pet his cocky little head
The original Scipio
Y’know, I wonder if Daniel might have a crush on Lia mirroring E-Merl’s thing for Rachel…
Quite possible. RP romances can get pretty… intimate. :X
Don’t even get me started.
One turned into a successful marriage. My wife and I are going strong on our 14th year, despite me being a raging idiot at times.
Two. Husband and I are six years in.
I’m sure there are people out there who would be horrified to know I have a daughter.
I totally met my ex-wife through roleplaying. That said… it wasn’t roleplaying a romance. We only roleplayed friends at the time.
Mood killers: Whether or not they’re a bad thing depends on the mood being killed.
It comes across as an awkward interruption. And yet, the whole scene is about how the roleplayed fantasy characters were a conduit for genuine relationships. So Cassie showing up with a present is actually a perfectly appropriate response to Lia’s loss.
And also a totally Bandit thing to do.
This is some kewl shit here. AXEMAS!!!! HAH BUMHUG.
Someone tries to hug my bum, he’s gonna get an axe.
Bum hugging? That’s a paddlin’. I mean an axin’.
you should always axe first before hugging someones bum.
Kinky.
Kaye has an enormous feline.
ifyouknowwhatimean
Are they not supposed to be that big? Because mine’s that big.
It’s face seems like 3/4 the size of hers.
But big cats are real, and to be cherished.
He’s just a fluffmonster. Get him wet and he’ll be a scrawny little deathwheelofpointybits.
STROKE MY FUR SLAVE!
Yes, please!
This sentence desperately needed a comma.
What, you don’t like fur slaves?
Any furry would like to have a fur slave…After all, not all of them are flexible enough to get shampoo everywhere they have fur & *somebody* has to tend to it.
what a nerd
Ok, remind me who is who again?
Lia is Rachel. (Or has been…)
Daniel is E-merl.
Kaye is Scipio.
Chrissie is Bandit.

I have found that links to the GA site itself pass through the spam filter if they’re written without the domain name, like so: /comic/chapter-33-page-14/
I’ll go ahead and update the tags for you kids.
(I think when we did that page we still weren’t 100% on their name choices yet)
I just realized… is this the same Chrissie from Quiltbag way back when? Appearance fits (http://quiltbag.keenspot.com/d/20120219.html) :)
Holy uncanny crossover!
T is clearly too swamped to have confirmed this earlier, so I will do so on his behalf.
This is Chrissie “from” Quiltbag in the same way that GA’s Shanna is “from” Faans. Same character, alternate universe, no prior reading required.
I’m glad she’s clearly in a better place than the Quiltbag version was (and hope that means Quiltbag!Chrissie will get there before too long)…
It was always the plan to get Chrissie there, and virtually my sole regret about ending QUILTBAG earlier than planned was leaving her in the place I did. This is a second chance I’ve been building to for quite a while.
Aichen suggested this too, in yesterday’s comment section.
yep, i thought so, too. Glad i’m not the only one.
Waiting to find out which of the other non-imbedded guildies are actually somebody from P&A or FAANS or Rip&Teri.
& Thanks for the nod to my posting yesterday, Benedikt.
Sepia World can’t really do justice to her ethnicity… Just figured I’d note that.
Oh man! Please tell me the tabletop jukebox thingies still work.
Seriously, a diner with tabletop jukeboxes AND wi-fi? Awesome!
Hopefully their menu is just as good. I’m seeing a lot of empties, and only one other occupied table. (Behind Daniel’s speech bubbles, panel one)
MERRY AXEMAS CURLYBROWN
Now who gonna be Snoopy?
Just wanted to say I FUCKING LOVE how you have a token man in this troupe. You’ve also taken the trope of someone playing across their gender and enjoying it far too much, but instead of making it a pervy man, it’s a pervy woman.
I LOVE YOU. I LOVE THIS.
I like (role)playing female characters… Am I perverse, because of that? :(
There has been plentiful debate on why someone might roleplay a different gender.
One of the most common I hear is that if a person is going to spend 3/4 of the game staring at someone’s backside, they might as well enjoy the view.
And now, the main thing I just can’t help but thinking about is this big letter kaye keeps close to her… What’s inside of it ? I wanna knoooow -__-
While you mention that, what’s in Daniel’s paper sack there?
His heart. Prezzie for Lia.
Canon in 5… 4… 3…
Well… it was. His heart was crushed and turned to dust, in panel 5.
I don’t think Lia realizes how Daniel’s taking what she’s saying, so there’s a chance that the good ship DanieLia is still afloat, even if he thinks it just hit an iceberg and went straight down.
Lunch. This is a terrible, terrible diner.
It’s the 30 pieces of silver that she got for tipping off the location of the Axemas party to JJ. She’s gonna be stunned, when she sees her friends gunned down in a senseless drive-by shooting. ;)
That ornament on the cover was only the first casualty.
(Hey! Don’t worry. It’s only a theory)
…won’t the “Big Four” tell them what actually happened to Racheal while Lia was away? How are they going to react to that?
No. Why would they? They’re “inside” Arkerra and don’t know anything outside their world. To them, Rachel IS dead.
Ok, now I get it. They might tell the remaining three. Could happen. Probably will happen, since E’merl wasn’t part of the team. This will be interesting…
Unless, of course, they tell E’merl while his player is offline, since, apparently, things can happen while players are offline.
They might get annoyed at them for RPing the ‘death’ of Rachel. ‘Dammit, Hurricane screwing Lia over is NOT an RP opportunity!’
Lia’s cynicsm is, well, it’s well founded, but it’s also painful to see. Having been a longtime player of WoW, I can definitely know the feels behind putting a lot of yourself into your main (somethingsomethingdruidsandRPserverssomethingsomething..). HR in disguise. Headcanon until the bitter end.
