He started over in Cyberia and apparently didn’t run into any Ego Magnifying Prophecies of Awesome. He didn’t actually suck AS bad before that moment in his development in Arkerra.

Possibly, though it could also mean that he can’t use his abilities much without shutting down or something. I’m reminded about a show with a military android that was discharged and had only a certain number of days to live, which were reduced on occasion when it needed to access it’s more draining skills.

Maybe I missed the comments on this earlier, but I just had an epiphany that WAV is Payet Best’s Cyberia character/avatar.
If this hypothesis is correct, then perhaps Byron will now have a Cyberia character, too?

Best was sucked into a portal to another dimension. Byron just sort of got stabbed and then megapossessed and then stabbed a bunch more. Not remotely the same circumstances.

Huh, good point. Also this theory would remove the need for Byron to get resurrected again. I’m not sure how that resurrection would have been explained this time.

Maybe find some lodestone, build a generator, and build a windmill in the Sky Elves’ city?

Could go hydroelectric, but if Gastonia got that technology, they’d start a dam war, wherever they wanted to create a lake.

It has now been 1.5 cycles since the encounter with the Corrupter Beast. I happened across an artifact that greatly resembled a data disc from back home. Though it didn’t glow I thought this a result of being too long in this odd environment.

I attempted to insert the disc into my drive slot which proved to be impossible due to some physical alteration to my body caused by my translation to this world. More on these alterations later…

Designate Frigg immediately began to convulse, making honking noises, and collapsing to the ground. I found this extremely distressing as it appeared did those in the immediate area. However, they were looking at me as opposed to the suffering of designate Frigg. I believed they wished me to help designate Frigg as the one closest. All attempts failed and in fact appeared to make matters worse.

Later, after I gave up on reading the disc and Frigg recovered from her odd condition, designate Fr’NJ explained that the item in question was actually native to the local realm and was meant to hold a portion of a prepared mass to be consumed.

Designate Fr’NJ insisted I acquire a different instance of this artifact for use in the consumption of mass. I was about to ask why but designate Frigg as well as several others present appeared about to succumb to her former condition again. Designate Fr’NJ suggested I simply obey for now but that she would conduct a “crash course” in the basic functions necessary to life in Arkerra later that cycle in private chat.

The consumption of mass was an amazing explosion sensations! I can’t describe it. It did not have the immediate re-energizing affect that I am used to however so I thought that perhaps I had not consumed enough mass. The continuing consumption of mass not only seemed to have the opposite effect of accessing the Circuit it eventually begin to cause pain forcing me to stop. I could barely move and as I wearily looked around designate Frigg walked by and said, “If you think that was good wait till your first poop. After all that, its gonna be a doozy of a doody that you pop your brown cherry on!” I find designate Frigg very difficult to understand at times. Luckily her speech patterns do not seem indicative of common communication protocols among my newfound comrades.

I will try to look forward to the continuing “adventure” (apparently a very important concept here) that adjusting to life in Arkerra presents.

We’re capable of making games that look like reasonable facsimiles of real life – or better – yet sometimes we still *choose* to make something look like Shovel Knight. Maximum graphical fidelity is not always the main concern, or even desired. Sometimes you want a street-by-street photo-realistic reconstruction of LA, sometimes you want 16-bit mushroom-infested kingdoms, and sometimes you want 1982’s Tron.
