Spoiler alert! Gravedust betrays and kills the party, Frigg is revealed to be an genius spy, Byron isn’t really a berserker (he’s a baker), Payet dies three four chapters in, and Syr’nj ends up killing the King of Gastonia. Oh, yeah, and the whole party dies, except Bandit, who escaped unscathed.
Back again… after less than a year.
It was June last time, and now it is only February… but alas, though there are a great many webcomics around these days, most of them seem too short, infrequent or low-quality to concern me.
My dad originally introduced this to me back in 2012, but I was a little off put by Frigg. I have, however, since been convinced to give this a shot by a friend who told me the character development, the storyline and the plot twists were worth it. Plus I would really like Frigg eventually. So, due to my friends guarantee, I will give this a shot. Unlike my firmed, I comment. Since it is so long, I will avoid commenting every page, but I will comment on the highlights. I don’t know if you read comments on old pages like this, but I know, as a writer, all comments are appreciated even on old stuff.
Just found out this comic existed last weekend and read through marathon style over the next few days. Absolutely fantastic, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a comic this much.
The main thing I appreciate about your writing is the balance between humor and seriousness. I’ve read far too many stories that take themselves so seriously that it’s hard as a reader to actually care about the plot, and the characters inevitably turn out being all but empty tropes. The fact that this comic starts out seeming more geared to comedy but then gradually transitions into more serious events (without losing its capacity for hilarity) makes the overall story much more powerful. The reader takes the story seriously rather than the writer forcing it. It works for characters, too; seeing them in relaxed, carefree settings as well as during their darkest moments adds a lot of depth to the experience. I know this isn’t the only story to have ever done this but the balance struck between these elements really impressed me.
I was pleasantly surprised when I reached the most recent page and found it wasn’t the end; when I saw that this started in 2009 I was expecting it to be finished. I gotta say it’s bittersweet to find out it’s still going but have it be so close to the end, but I am looking forward to the conclusion.

Try this one, if you haven’t already. It was recommended by Phil (I think. Can’t find the post. Might have been T.) a few weeks ago and I’m loving it!

Alright. Gonna read through this whole doorstopper of an archive while I’m stuck doing much of nothing!
…nothing like a pandemic to make certain aspects of this webcomic feel applicable to my current situation.
