In an unrelated note, I’d LOVE if this comic got a plucky goblin protagonist. Maybe an NPC sidekick? I’ve always loved the subverting of “Evil Fantasy Race” cliches.
I find the idea that any race of sentient beings can be inherently evil to be utterly ludicrous. Sentience implies the ability to make choices, including moral and ethical ones. Even in very closed, real-life, human societies, there are dissidents, refugees, iconoclasts, reformers, and heretics.
There’s no reason that there shouldn’t be orcs, trolls, and goblins who just want to take care of their kids and peacefully go about their lives.
if a woodchuck could chuck wood, and a woodchuck would chuck wood and a woodchuck should chuck wood, then you’ve invented an arbitrary situation where you may as well define the amount as well, the question itself has no meaning.
The desire to chuck is there, whether the ability is or not. Were ability to manifest, the amount of wood required to satiate the appetite is well documented.
In journals and stuff, from science places.
I have the impression that Erica’s lines were pretty thick, and John’s were hairline thin. I get this from cointinually making comparisons to my own stuff, I’d always think “Those lines are really thick” when looking at Erica’s strips, and “man, those lines are thin” when looking at John’s.
Lul, I see it as the other way around. Erica’s lines always seem wavy, like thick in the middle bot overall and consistently with a thin, light linework when it came to character shapes. John seems to use harder, thick, bold lines with a lot of volume in them. Both styles are great. Maybe it’s discrepancies in how we describe them? :P
I think even the pages you’ve picked out suggest that Erica draws quite weighty lines compared to John, the level of detail in John’s images is very high, which you can only do with narrow lines.
It still feels like Erica’s lines have less weight on them, however you want to interpret that. John’s definitely seem heavier and thicker, but hey, that’s just me. Shrug.
Hurrah, weapons! Hurrah, (implied) party rez! Hurrah, new chapter!
I’m kinda glad there will be a weekend in here. Much as I will miss comments for the weekend, I can’t read very well just now, so I’ll just have to catch up.
(For those wondering wtf: I have a scratched cornea.)
Axes, Bow, Guitar, Mace, Goggles . . . Where’s Bandit’s gear?!?
Hiding. As it should be.
That *IS* Bandit’s gear. No one knows it yet, though. WUTAI!
And they’ll have to play hide n’ seek and defeat an irritatingly over-powered boss fight to get them back.
It would be knife to know where it is, but this picture doesn’t make the cut.
That’s likely the point.
That’s right, there’s no need to get edgy about it.
these are some sharp comments.
Their rapier wit cuts to the bone.
come on cut them a little skin here
Maybe it’s just the players’ gear? Bandit isn’t one of the players, therefore…
c-c-c-combo breaker!
Sweet new site, guys.
You should also check out the sweet new forum and make a some sweet new posts there.
And then we go to some sweet new diner and get the same old sweet new dinners.
And then enjoy sweet new rejection from the sweet new woman I’ve- I mean, WE’VE been stalking.
Then we get to take a ride in a sweet new police car.
And enjoy the taste of some sweet new pepper spray when we try to run away at the police station. Guess we shouldn’t make decisions after we polish off a sweet new bottle of cheap vodka.
Then get locked up in a sweet new jail cell with a guy called “Bubba” who makes you his sweet new bitch.
This sweet new comment thread is filled to the brim with WIN.
Cheers,
Cote
FAIL! loves da comic :D
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!
This comment line gave me diabetes.
Sweet new diabetes?
Well I got sweet new blood so yeah I guess. But no candy pour moi sadly.
This page is to let us know that Thogg the Goblin will be joining the cast. That’s his rock the weapons are leaning against.
In an unrelated note, I’d LOVE if this comic got a plucky goblin protagonist. Maybe an NPC sidekick? I’ve always loved the subverting of “Evil Fantasy Race” cliches.
You mean you’ve always loved the “member of an evil race with a golden heart” cliche.
I call Drizzt on you!

Locke:
You should read Goblins : http://www.goblinscomic.com/
I highly recommend it.
Actually, everyone else too. It’s not QUITE as awesome as this one, but it’s pretty close. (And with a lot of similar themes).
Cheers,
Cote
honestly anyone already reading this type of comic would have been blind to miss goblins :)~
Thogg actually lives underneath of the rock. We should make fanart. Fanart makes these things canon.
Then why have they not made my slashpics art yet?!?
You drew Guilded Age slash? I am intrigued.
There’s quite a lot of Frigg/Whitequeen
And it’s canon now. SEE?
Sure;y that’d be Frigg/White bishop.
I’d like to axe a few questions about today’s panel, but I’ll bow to public commentary and just Goggle it instead.
to arrow to the point of the issue, your comment is leaving me a little high strung.
It might be better to mace the music and appeal to the masses–I don’t think google will hack it.
“Like, Gravedust, man, have you ever THOUGHT about, like, life? It’s so DEEP, man… Like… Like all these lines on my hands… Woah.”
Who knew death could be so intoxicating?
Nah, only when he wants to be. Otherwise, it’s impossible for him to get dru-
Oh, you said intoxicating. My bad.
Nothing truly makes you take a good hard look at your life like losing it completely, then coming back from the grave.
So does this mean we have a party of 6? Or will Best be kept in reserve again, in case of a total party wipe like that failed diplomatic mission?
With Best around there won’t be another wipe.
Well, there WILL be one. Specifically, an “Ass-wipe”.
I don’t like to nitpick, but on the cast page, the first sentence in Byron’s summary is repeated.
Overall, I like the way the site looks! :D
Apparently, the fact that Byron survived the War That Felled Battleshire is so important, they felt it was worth mentioning twice.
It’s less impressive when you find out Battleshire was populated primarily by puppies and children.
What they don’t mention is that Battleshire was felled, un-felled, and re-felled, and Byron was the only survivor both times.
Byron: The last of the Battleshire Fell-owship.
Thx, fixed!
“Fixed”? But, it was so important it warranted mentioning twice!
no dagger?
comeongivemeafuckingbreak v_v
Why are we here?
To check out the new update and then talk about it…that was easy.
If you’re looking for the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything, I have it on good authority that it’s 42.
This is also the answer to a much older question:
“How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?”
How much hob could a hobgoblin goblin if a hobgoblin could goblin hob?
I can’t remember where I heard that…
How much ground could a groundhog hog if a groundhog could hog ground?
Not quite as twisty as the original, though.
I thought the answer was “A woodchuck would chuck all the wood that a woodchuck could chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood”.
Nope, 42.
42 wood.
if a woodchuck could chuck wood, and a woodchuck would chuck wood and a woodchuck should chuck wood, then you’ve invented an arbitrary situation where you may as well define the amount as well, the question itself has no meaning.
The desire to chuck is there, whether the ability is or not. Were ability to manifest, the amount of wood required to satiate the appetite is well documented.
In journals and stuff, from science places.
yeah, I can’t see bandit leting us have a look at her past life, so I’m guessing thats why the dagger is missing
or, hopefully not, only PC’s get a ressurection…
if bandit turns out to be just a nobody, i will be a sad goose
I bet she’s a AI.
They already stated it’s a actual universe they created for the game so Bandit exists/existed, just not in our realit
I know, right, Zero? If she was just an NPC, then we’d never know what she was FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOOOR!!!
Is this Erica’s artwork?
Not if you believe the bottom line, but I also like it very much.
BTW, the previous chapter / next chapter links are broken, possibly because chapters are sorted alphabetically (1, 10, 2, 3, …).
An unforeseen error! Fixed!
I hate comicpress.
Gotta learn it at some point though.
Nope, this one’s John!
Colour me impressed, it has the feel of Erica’s work all over it.
John uses much more dark, near-straight lines. Erica’s lines were smoother and not quite as dark or thick typically.
Ok supporting my feelings: Look at Chapter 4 Page 1. The lines are “thick”, but overall they are light and thinned. That’s what I feel is Erica’s.
Next look at Chapter 9 Page 5. John’s lines definitely seem to have more thickness and weight on them.
I think even the pages you’ve picked out suggest that Erica draws quite weighty lines compared to John, the level of detail in John’s images is very high, which you can only do with narrow lines.
Try comparing these with these.
It still feels like Erica’s lines have less weight on them, however you want to interpret that. John’s definitely seem heavier and thicker, but hey, that’s just me. Shrug.
Thank you. I’ve been trying to loosen up my style. When I finished this cover, I thought myself it almost looked like something Erica could have done.
Nice cover. Shades of Jack Kirby to my old eyes.
On Monday I’m going to refresh my browser for the update.
Today’s page is cached.
I see what you did there.
Nice cover =)
That’s two in a row for Brayen, well done! And quite the smug expression for it. So emotive – I mean, just look at this: http://thnikkalemur.deviantart.com/art/Smug-Brayen-202275308
*swoon*
I think we got the party arsenal covered.
Byron; “Why are my Axes covered in blo… oh yeah… my bad.”
Bandit: “Yeah, thanks boss. And you wonder why I didn’t put my knives down in the pile of weapons.”
Hurrah, weapons! Hurrah, (implied) party rez! Hurrah, new chapter!
I’m kinda glad there will be a weekend in here. Much as I will miss comments for the weekend, I can’t read very well just now, so I’ll just have to catch up.

So much for your nick name of hawk eye.
On a completely unrelated note…is there a way to see the alt text when growing on an iTouch? If not maybe make it the first comment from now on?
