Soo awesome! Just such a perfect note to close that on.
So new theory, she’s protecting herself and the others who weren’t confirmed dead by keeping information about coming back from the dead to a minimum. It sounds like the humans might start assuming they were demonic or something if this got out. Could cause troubles in their attempts to prevent a war.
I totally can’t wait to see what she does with that workshop.
Still waiting for a 4-way, with Gravy off to the side, sniffing in disapproval. Complete with innuendos about “axe wounds” and “burying the hatchet” and how gnomes fit in “tight spaces”.
Gravy would have to participate as a voyeur. They’d all need to experience “la petite mort”, to reach Best. Besides, Best wouldn’t bother coming back, if he couldn’t make it a 6 way. xp
Technically, “nigromancy” was an actual word for black magic in the Middle Ages and was used interchangeably with necromancy, though it was more closely related to demonology than to speaking with the dead.
Yeah, but from what I’ve read the “necro” part comes from the Greek nekros which means “corpse”. But it is possible that, meanwhile, some interpreted is as “negro/nigro”, thus black magic.
GD needs to experience some hard living so he could come up with the best country song ever! He’s questing for the respect and admiration of his fellow mountainbillies.
Couldn’t have imagined a nicer chapter intro. My smile is broad indeed.
Dammit. I had a really interesting thought just now and was writing out a bigass, rambling post about it when I realised Gravedust was dead when Bandit got zerker’d and couldn’t have seen that shit ain’t reversible with troll’s blood even if Harky was the fucking troll equivilent of the cheerleader. Y’know, being an expert and all.
You know what, at first I was unhappy that the art style changed. I really kinda didn’t hated it for a while, probably just because it was new and not what I was used to. But I guess it has slowly grown on me because I find myself being happier and happier with the quality of the art and the feelings it both conveys and elicits. While I still miss Erica, I guess I just wanted to brown nose up to the new artist a little.
On a different topic, I also missed Bandit. Best was(and probably still is) a giant douche.
Well, you gotta remember, too, every artist takes a little while to get into the swing of it. This was someone else’s project, at first, so when John took over he had to not only honor the old style, but blend in his own to make it a real thing. The style shifted, but the feel didn’t, and that takes work to get down right, which I think he has.
I really liked that Erica drew the first half of the strip because I liked her art from back when she did the Sluggy guest stuff and had wanted to see more of it for awhile.
I was pretty sad when I got to the artist change but not for very long because I already liked Mr. Waltrip’s stuff.
Might have had a party wipe on that troll boss, and lost the bard in that ancient library instance, but still came home with some rare materials! Time to grind my crafting skill!
I find it just a tad strange that Bandit had them set up that workshop considering the rest of the party was MIA for so long and wasn’t even known to be alive for certain.
I love this page… I wish, where I am from in chapter 48, that that last panel were still a thing between these two. Or rather: I hope. Still a few more pages to come, after all.

Let the inevitable Bandit/Syr’nj shipping commence. But not by me. Ha!
(Wondering when Byron and Syr’nj are gonna kiss already)

Guest author: Piers Anthony.
Lol. Piers Anthony. Totally forgot about him. I bet we could get him on board for this project if we all chipped in. Maybe set up a kickstarter page?
Well Bandit does know how to make Syr’nj happy.
Of course Syr’nj has everything planned. I’m impressed with her so far.
Oh my glob I love his books! :D
(blink)
Well, I guess someone has to.
The 4 way being the ritual that brings Best back?
Gravy would have to participate as a voyeur. They’d all need to experience “la petite mort”, to reach Best. Besides, Best wouldn’t bother coming back, if he couldn’t make it a 6 way. xp
I could ship Syr’nj/Bandit based on this scene, except for 2 points.
1) Syr’nj/Byron is both awesome and obviously canon.
2) Bandit/Gravedust is totally the OTP.
Sooo, dat Gravydust fellow’s one uf dem neeegromancers. Well, we dun take kindly t’his kind ’round these parts.
Easy, now. Down with that sort of thing.
Don’t worry Phil, the Picard avatar isn’t just for show.
You’re forgetting Picard Rule #1: “Take no provocative action!”
I would say that it is an awesome south park reference :)

Says Phil from Craggy Island…
(Am I really the only person to get that quote?)
Too bad Best died, or he could play dueling banjos with the the Gastonians in an attempt to help Gravedust earn their trust.
GD needs to experience some hard living so he could come up with the best country song ever! He’s questing for the respect and admiration of his fellow mountainbillies.
…why would Bandit have a workshop built for Syr’nj if she thought she was dead…?
Panel 4, “I was worried” not “I thought you were dead”
Yes and earlier she said that she had been hoping for two weeks that they would show up. She said that she thought that Gravedust was dead, though.
It’s hard to see links in the comment text. There’s a link to http://guildedage.net/webcomic/chapter-11/chapter-11-page-24/ in there.
Panel four: Syr’nj does the night elf happy bounce.
Man, I really missed Bandit.
Hey, you’ll never catch me being superstitious, knock on wood.
Couldn’t have imagined a nicer chapter intro. My smile is broad indeed.

Oh well, maybe next time.
SUDDENLY LESBIANS.

Enjoying this a lot. Art remains very good, although the watercolory textures can be a bit distracting on people’s faces.

And of course because I mention how big of douche Best is, that is the Avatar I get.
How can Best be so awesome and suck so bad at the same time?
That’s why you get a Gravitar, so you avoid random avatar ironies.
Speaking of avatars, I’m surprised that no one has yet made an avatar of the Bandit-with-Dedalus-mustache fanart.
Well, you gotta remember, too, every artist takes a little while to get into the swing of it. Syr goes ‘squee’
“Yeah, I did! Unfortunately, they misunderstood me, and it’s an Actor’s Workshop. With Bobcat Goldthwaite.”
Gack!
well this ended better than i thought it would
And then they made out.
I find it just a tad strange that Bandit had them set up that workshop considering the rest of the party was MIA for so long and wasn’t even known to be alive for certain.
It definitely is.
The bit about a workshop explains why Syr’nj didn’t restock her potions before they entered the sky elf temple.
Syr had the best reaction ever. Seriously.
“Workshop” = Medieval Meth Lab. This is where we learn Syr’s dark past as a member of the Elven Drug Cartel.
With bandit, of course, planning on taking advantage of that dark past, hence the workshop.
Kingdoms of Albuquerque? Syr was a chemistry teacher?
Every time I see Bandit I just want to pick her up and hug the stuffing out of her. Then run for the hills yelling “MINE MINE MINE SHE’S ALL MINE!!”
Is that normal?
Yes
I think they call that Ryugu-syndrome. Call a doctor. The symptoms get worse.
BONDING 8)
D’awww.
James Bonding.
Bondage? Who’s da pervert here?
Most of us.
Elf on gnome now? What’s next? Dog on cat? Horse on burro? Sick. Just sick. >:-(
