New Comics Every Weekday - Written by T Campbell & Phil Kahn - Illustrated by John & Jason Waltrip
Hewie and Pyre? What’s next, a rogue named Bandit?
Or an innkeeper named Keeper?
a couple of stage artists called dancer and prancer, and an ice mage called Blitzen.
“Stage artists”? Is that what we are calling strippers these days?
Dammit, now I have the mental image of gnome chip-n-dale dancers in my head, thanks.
ice mage? You know blitzen means lightning right?
Gnomes are proud to be cogs in the machine, and good engineers label their cogs.
And the less said about Bouncer, the better, I suppose.
It would have been too much for us to handle.
If this was a manga then the next ten pages would be those guys trying to jump in front of her yelling about how they are her opponents.
followed by thirty pages of Bandit powering up.
…interrupted by a 60 page flashback.
which is followed up with another thirty pages of Hewie and Pyre powering up.
Seems like the table has turned in Bandits favor. For now at least.
I’m still knocking on wood for her sake
If you axe me, she is definitely the most table person in the room.
of scorch she is, though it seems Hewie also knows the proper time to cleave a party.
She’s definitely got them hacked off and hot under the collar.
I’m not sure how I’m supposed to read her vernacular. Almost the only sounds that are apostrophed out are unstressed vowel sounds anyways, or schwas. What’s the spoken difference between “faster” and “fast’r”? Or “given” and “giv’n”? Linguists call these syllabic consonants.
I usually think of Holly Hunters accent when Bandit talks
Running away to live another day takes bravery. Remember, the “to” always more important than the “from.”
Not if your name is Rincewind.
Love the 7 Year Itch moment in panel 3. Damn Bandit is fast.
More importantly she can ignore Inertia!
Like the Flash, physics mean nothing to her
Does that mean she can phase through walls by speeding up her molecules too?
Why not, she has no problem going through Axes
I like the lady in the green dress in panel 3. She’s all O.O
I guess she had to cut and run before they really flipped out.
Score one for the guy who said this would happen. Who was that again?
Always confused me, too. Either it just means “she has an accent”, or “normal speech” in this comic is supposed to be read with a different pronunciation than General American.
There probably other ways, but it works for me if I read it with a Cockney accent… If you don’t know what that is, find clips of Eliza Dolittle from the movie My Fair Lady.
To be fair, I don’t read any of this website with a General American pronunciation.
Bandit is definitely a cockney though.
In my head, Bandit sounds Irish.
I would love to see more gnomish language idioms like Gear Crackin’ -.
All I heard was “RUN AWAY RUN AWAY”
She should not lock the open door.
is full moon on the rise already? O.o
