“Stage artists”? Is that what we are calling strippers these days?

Gnomes are proud to be cogs in the machine, and good engineers label their cogs.

If this was a manga then the next ten pages would be those guys trying to jump in front of her yelling about how they are her opponents.

I’m not sure how I’m supposed to read her vernacular. Almost the only sounds that are apostrophed out are unstressed vowel sounds anyways, or schwas. What’s the spoken difference between “faster” and “fast’r”? Or “given” and “giv’n”? Linguists call these syllabic consonants.

Running away to live another day takes bravery. Remember, the “to” always more important than the “from.”

Always confused me, too. Either it just means “she has an accent”, or “normal speech” in this comic is supposed to be read with a different pronunciation than General American.

There probably other ways, but it works for me if I read it with a Cockney accent… If you don’t know what that is, find clips of Eliza Dolittle from the movie My Fair Lady.

To be fair, I don’t read any of this website with a General American pronunciation.

Bandit is definitely a cockney though.
