the book of Goddammit
4:13
Goddammit did answer the prayer of the armoured bitch, smiting the thing made mostly of metal and lacking flesh. As Goddammits hatred of things with cogs gears shafts bearings screws bolts chains sheaves frames some glass bits of leather oils of many types ranging from low viscosity to very very high not to forget bio oils such as vegetable and animal oils plate steel plate bronze and copper plate tin and aluminum where light weight applications are favourable based on real world testing applications render such a light weight metal is needed sometimes in flying machines and the like bring Goddammits full and total attention to the mortal relm, the mortal being doth speak his name and make ye request, and he or she shall grant it to the armoured bitch at the greatest time of need. So sayeth the lord of KaSmite Goddammit.
I’m wondering if Frigg has to get »really« mad (I mean, she`s already turned up to 11 in any given battle, and then she amps it up..?) for the mace to power up like that. At this rate, she may start taking berserker lessons from Byron.
Could be the start of an addiction if she’s not careful..
First panel of this comic “Goddammit I’m NOT dealing with this shit today!”
While yes, she was thinking that when she said “Goddamn” in the page you linked to, however there is the possibility of mental invocation, whether that she could either think the word or speak it. She has to have some new Metamagic feat we’ve never heard about in order to use Verbal spell components mentally.
Frigg requires no more rage. But, that aside, I’d guess that her power works entirely on being extremely pissed off. The angrier she gets, the more she can channel. Draw Upon Holy Wroth!
I swear, we’re gonna get to some divine oracle and she’s gonna tell us the name of Frigg’s deity is Thaal Sinestro.
Yellow Lantern powers, activated by a crowd in the grip of fear.
Ka-SMITE! Once per Combat, Supernatural Ability, Full Round Action
In a moment of peril the divines smile upon the caster. When in a moment of near-death or a perilous situation, the caster may, as an immediate action speak the word “Goddamn!” or “Goddammit!”. This can either be a mental speaking (Such as thinking it to yourself) or saying it aloud. There is a 50% chance that the caster’s weapon is surrounded by a holy glow, causing an additional 10dDeath damage in addition to the normal weapon damage, on a single attack, as well as sending the caster into a rage (Just like a Barbarian’s Rage ability). In addition their shield is also surrounded by a holy glow, if the caster is not using a shield then one is created and is held like a normal shield, usable only by the caster. This shield gives a +10 Sacred ‘Fuck You’ bonus and once per round can completely block a single attack made against the caster. Once the attack is made the effect is dispelled. The caster will never know how to use this, and can only use this after being spoken to by weird voices.
Didn’t anyone notice that Rachel has a very similiar (apparently divine) ability to Frigg’s when she goes melee? It seems that Rachel’s is less powered than Frigg’s, but that she can control it with her will (or maybe with her open-heartedness or something like that). It seems we have ourselves a good-paladin, badass-paladin duo :D
Heh, holy order? I’m not convinced that the (now defunct anyway) ‘Perpetually Bloodshot Eye’ order counts much. I’d hazard some wild guesses, though. Perhaps it’s about something higher, that they both have some kind of quality at heart that appeals to this mysterious deity, and partaking in this order caught its attention. Or maybe Frigg and Rachel both have some (a lot) more history that we don’t know of yet. Or maybe it’s just the dude that controls their universe from outside who’s screwing around with them.
Friggin divine magic users.
Icwutudidthar.
No. Frigg is now a Angry Fighter with a divine power source.
In DnD terms, she multiclassed into Paladin AND zerker.
I had the same reaction after watching episode III.
I see what you did there.
Has Frigg just leveled up?
Frigg evolved into Holyfrigg. Her Ka-Smite attack should be super-effective against Team Iwanati’s Hammertank.
Wait, does this mean she just killed her nun-friend? Er, non-friend?
Looks like those three or smiten with her.
It’s kind of dark in the frame, but if you look at Wednesday’s comic I think we see Rachel getting thrown clear by Taro’s Tantrum.
Totes. Looks like Rachel’s safe.
Thanks for illuminating that for us.
Shining a light on the truth and all that.
Frigg has smite construct, and never knew it.
It’s like you’re in my BRAIN.
Baby got smack!
Paladin Gum!
“Goddamn” is the magic word.
For reals. Look back at when Frigg smashed the golem head. And when she had her crazy dream.
Nah, it’ll be doing something courageous /insane that’s the magic word.
I dunno, goddamn can easily be interpreted as a smite keyword
She says goddamnit, and God says, “Sure, I guess I can do that.”
Gold Star.
HAHAHAH. yes. that has to be it.

Ayup, I had to go back an confirm it too. It can’t be just a magic word though – there has to be belief behind it.

What? I see her saying “FFFFUUUU” both times, but I think she didn’t say “Goddamn” the first time. She just thought it, the way I read it.

Fun as this update was (it was!) Im bummed about having to wait months for the deities’ (or whatever it is) explanations.
>Months
Someone’s an optimist!
You can read their explanation, but they’re all in code.
God Mode
No, Frigg, you aren’t a psion.
Yo kid. DO A BARREL ROLL!
Don’t ya hate it when you can’t keep it up after the big moment, Frig?
Deus ex IN machina.
Tautology ex machina.
“Deuces, Ex-machina”
Would that not be the plural of dux (meaning duke)?
Holy shit.
She even gains a light shield and infuses her armor with divine power.
AND I HAVE A FEELING THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG.
And now we know what the end of a Hullfuck looks like.
Yep, time to light a smoke and call that cab.
She saw; she came; she conquered?
At least she proved the machine wasn’t built by Timex. A Timex can take a licking and keep on ticking.
welp, i guessed Frigg might be pretty kinky considering, but above all DO NOT PULL HER HAIR.
I called it! I really called it! I hope Gravedust at least was looking with his sight. I think he would have some great insight.
Frigg! Head’s up!
I’m wondering about that, too…
that kid looks an awful lot like Luffy in this pic. Makes me wonder where Bandit exploded off to though…
I thought we saw her fall into the crowd a strip or two ago.
It was never intentional, but they are both self-appointed Boy Pirate Kings.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
I wonder how many panels before the kid lands back down.
Just more evidence that Frigg’s awesomeness cannot be contained.
Heh. She exploded inside the robot.
Frigg requires no more rage. But, that aside, I’d guess that her power works entirely on being extremely pissed off. The angrier she gets, the more she can channel. Draw Upon Holy Wroth!
biggest problem with thing driven by emotion.
You may do something in it’s fire that you will later regret.
Luckily Frigg hasn’t yet.
Gravatar win, for that comment.
Yeah, seriously.
I swear, we’re gonna get to some divine oracle and she’s gonna tell us the name of Frigg’s deity is Thaal Sinestro.

haha, damn “once per day” special abilities
This is why I dislike fourth ed.

Oh dammit all. I meant to say “Once the caster makes an attack the effect is dispelled.” >.>; Whoops.
I loves me some tank-on-tank action!
Good news: The tank is busted.
Bad news: You have no chance of shaking your fangirl now.
Blizzard will nerf Divine Storm in a week, you watch.
I see two things coming up…
1)HOW MUCH DAMAGE WAS THAT?!
and
2)So how much experience do I get for smiting that gnome construct?
Four Words:
Rage Against the Machine.
I love this comment. <3
I love how the kid’s spinning in the cockpit like Darth Vader at the end of Episode IV.
Man, I read through all the comments just to find that you said the first thing I thought when I read today’s comic. So ditto, I guess.
Good thing that engine of carnage was insured!
Wait…
Subsection E, Paragraph 7, line 3.
“Thysse Macheyne Shall Not Be Coveyred In Event of Dyrect Dyvyne Intervention.”
CURSES!
The legal phrase is “Force Majure”.
Hah! I know of an actual insurance clause that includes the phrase “except by acts of God or war”. This one was both, for serious!
KA-SMITE!
I am so stealing that tag phrase.

Well, they WERE a part of the same holy order weren’t they?

the hammertank is looking rather holey atm.
(amidoingitright?)
Yeh, it’s pretty friggin’ hammered now.
(also welcome to the Late Commenters’ Society :P)
