Indeed. One male and three women in a “discussion”. This is the thing nightmares be made of.

          Hmm… spouse (?), sister-in-law, and mother-in-law.

It *is* worse than you think, and Moe… it’s far too late for running.

Byron is doomed, not that he minds too much.

Doubt may well be the price of leadership. It’s definitely not the price of social power.

It somehow never ceases to surprise me, for instance, how rarely a person in power will actually apologize or acknowledge error.

but you see, acknowledging error would be like admitting that they’re human.

Very true, wise owl. And how often people rise in the world by posing as a confident leader.
“Of Course I can do that !”
“Some body else screwed up. Not me”

Read Goffman’s “Presentation of Self in Everyday Life.” Dude covers that. They must be above reproach, to apologize is to destroy that illusion.

Thanks Hawk. I knew the original of course. The WoW version is a hoot also. This routine should be required study for any user of the “English” language.
(Also causes mass confusion in non-Anglish speakers. They get nothing and all native speakers around start laughing till they cry.)
