Chapter 21 – Cover
Hey, Guildies. We’re proceeding full speed ahead into Chapter 21. The chapter usually commences with celebratory DLC and re-shuffled avatars, and that’ll come with the page 1 update instead. Forgive us this lateness as we get geared up for one Hell of a KatsuCon.
Sometimes the hatchet just won’t stay buried.
Clearly somebody has an axe to grind.
Rocks fall, everyone dies. For the Peacemakers, it was Wednesday.
Honestly, I’m surprised H.R. Pufnstuf didn’t try this sooner. It’s like the quintessential DM tactic against unruly PC’s.
Clearly this canyon is full of Unobtainium ore, given all the floating rocks. So the ‘real world’ sections of the comic must actually be in the future, about a civilian counterpart of the Avatar program designed to exploit other dimensions the way the military tried to exploit Pandora.
Or something. I never actually watched that whole movie.
I always thought that unobtainium was one of the dumbest names for a fictional thing.
Everyone not named James Cameron though unobtainium was a stupid name for anything.
What about flangey-wangey-cum-specialtanium-unusualidide?
Unobtanium is a great name for an imaginary material that doesn’t exist but has all the qualities required of it. Because it’s not a material, it’s the CONCEPT of a material. The name clearly states its existence as such. And in the context that it’s not real, it makes sense to name it after its function.
When it becomes a real metal and you still name it Unobtainium, you’re completely missing the point of Unobtainium.
In summary, James Cameron is a prat and 3D movies are all his fault.
I thought The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey looked pretty good in 3D. But it’s the only movie I’ve seen in 3D, so I couldn’t compare it to the 3D in other movies.
I don’t disagree.
It could be upsidasium.
That would have been better.
Cheers,
Cote
OH GOD ROCKS FALL EVERYONE DIES
Someone actually pulled the “Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies” card on us during our last Munchkin game.
Wow, I just looked up Munchkin and found their site. Now I know what that picture of an axe-wielding cop riding a T-Rex with miniguns for arms was referencing.
You mean, besides Axe cop?
What, you know nothing of Axe Cop?
Actually, that’s Axe Cop.
Rumble rumble Axe Cop!
Just so there’s one more in the combo before someone breaks it.
Everyone falls, rocks die.
So sad. :(
Die falls, everyone rocks.
One internets for you.
You thought these axes were for cutting wood? You fools! They are for cutting stone!
It appears as if there is a bit of a earthquake and Byron catches himself with his axes to climb out. But that probably isn’t going to happen. Yet…
“The one where everything comes crashing down.”
Oh, there’s the axe at the bottom. My laptop was taking a while to load the image.
And here I was about to say “On the next episode of DragonBall Z…”
And the dozen after that…
HhhhrrrrrraaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Huge, hugh, HUGE!
The…the one where what? Without the usual alt-text, I AM LOST.
“Chapter 21 – The one in which they fall.”
The one where they die, again-again.
The one where Byron loses an axe and it ends up in a rockslide?
“The one where the Best happens to our heroes.”
I hope.
The one where they’re buried under their work.
The one where Real is Brown.
“LET THIS BE AN EXAMPLE TO YOU OTHER ROCKS.”
“NOW PLAY GNEISS OR THE NEXT MORION WHO WANTS TO TALK SCHIST WILL GET A BORAX IN THE (CLIFF) FACE.”
Gabbro like that again and we’ll be washing your mouth out with soapstone.
I will take your comments with a grain of basalt.
TOPH, SAVE US!
Look at all those rocks falling upwards. Can’t unsee, now.
They missing the Squiggly lines, so they could be traveling up, down, or floating. We all know rocks can’t move sideways.
I have seen a vision!
A vision of peace and harmony, between the Gastonian Alliance and the World’s Rebellion!
We need merely two things of great power!
First, a massive spell to seed the clouds with changing colors!
There will be no difference in the color of one’s skin, when you are all the colors at once!
Second, a gathering of bards and musicians as never seen before!
Celebrate the rhythms of life, for the primal heartbeat echoes in us all!
DYES FALL, EVERYONE ROCKS!
i can dig it
Sorry if this sounds finicky, but isn’t there usually some more descriptive alt-text on cover pages? Something like “The one where [something something]”?
The one where all work and no play makes Byron… something something.
The real mystery shall be whether that’s Bayen or Brayen. Stay tuned!
Chapter 21 – The one where things rock like they’ve never rocked before.
Chapter 21 – The one where they … cover.
For those about to rock. We salute you!
It seems that the only one missing from the Family Stone reunion photo is Sly. Not sure why he couldn’t make it, but at least his axe showed up.
GUYS… seriously, those are some super tiny rocks. No worries!
…or that is one MASSIVE axe?
granted, there is no banana for scale, but next to the axe, those are like, 3 to 10 lb rocks. dont know bout you guys, but i dont consider those to be very small.
OMG AXEQUAAKE!
WE WERE SO BUSY TRYING TO QUELL THE SAVAGE RACES THAT WE OVERLOOKED THE ROCK UPRISING! WE ARE UNDONE!
Completely random note: On chapter 20 page 22 the next and previous chapter buttons are broken. Freaky!
true dat
I was about to post about how, because comment avatars aren’t re-randomized, there wasn’t going to be a whole bunch of fun pointless posts.
I was obviously very, very wrong.
The axe looks chipped, so he fought somebody recently.. maybe he’s escaping from Souf Kural? Poor Byron, he always seems to pick the shortest straw…
Waitaminute – those aren’t falling rocks. That’s just dirt on the lens!
