…This is going to be a fascinating sidebar into the problems with adapting religions into an online gaming format.

Hmm. I wonder if, in Rachael’s order, promiscuity is actually perfectly fine, perhaps even holy, andit’s actually falling in love that is a sin…

Aw, c’mon! You already broke away from the Sisterhood of the Perpetual Bloodshot Eyeball after seeing its monstrous moral failings, to form The Sisters of the Unyielding Open Heart! Part of that reformation is continued growth towards doing the right thing! Stop looking at love as a sin, Rachel! ‘Coz the love you two got, the way you two have it, ain’t a sin at all.

    —

On another Rachel related topic, if William H. Macy could play H. R. in a movie, my vote for Rachel goes to Annie Parisse.

I had another idea over the weekend for who can play her, but I forgot who. :-( I’ll post if I remember.

Well, it might be sort of on the lines of how Love is forbidden in the Jedi order under certain circumstances.

See, the problem with love is that it can mess with your judgement. It makes you place more value on one person and consider them more than other people, solely due to your feelings for them. You bend or break rules on their behalf, because you love them, you go out of your way and place them first because you love them…you save them first instead of an innocent family…because you love them. Attachments to a single person over others can be dangerous and I think that Rachel’s new Order may have made a stipulation on intense devotion to a single person.

But then there is the Frigg thing, so I wonder…

I assume that it’s the Frigg thing, like Tsapki says, yeah. “The Sisters of the Unyielding Open Heart” is basically “The sisters of how Frigg rolls”, and I don’t see the Frigg we know and love outwardly espousing romantic love.
I mean, deep down it feels like she does, but has been burned by it, so she outwardly says it’s for deluded pussy-cocks. And thus The Sisters follow suit.

Feeling strongly about a thing is effectively relinquishing control of it.
Feeling strongly is the short path to acts of blithering idiocy.

Bizarre as it may sound, that is why I say founding relationships on love is to condemn them to ruin… and why those who refuse to get into a relationship BECAUSE they’re not allowed to love are just weak.

… Then of course there is the Josh Lesnick school of partnering, where you go up to someone and declare them your sidekick… I also approve of this course of action.

Simply put, imagine Frigg saying something like “Psh, love is a stupid, pansy-ass delusion that only weak and ignorant losers believe in. You only win in life by trolling, and maximizing teh lulz.”

Then imagine The Sisters of the Unyielding Open Heart seeing her say this, and then going “Welp, that’s how Frigg rolls, so that’s what we’ll do too.” IMO it’s been established that TSotUOH try to emulate Frigg.

Well of course the teachings of the Sisters of the Unyielding Open Heart forbid forming a relationship on any emotion as pussy-like as love. If it doesn’t end in a pounding hatefuck, then it’s just gay. And not even the good kind of gay. (Note: the good kind of gay = the type of gay that ends in a pounding hatefuck).

I hope you realise what a terrible moral position you’ve put her in, E-Merl.

    to quote the boys…

    “??

I’ve always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who

Can’t say I like this development. It’s feels like exploitation to get some cheap drama as well as quite forced. Hope it’s resolved fast with Frigg dope slapping Rachel and telling her to stop with her crap. It would probably be better done in a lighter handed way instead of this preparation for Drama.

Ehh, anyway, let’s wait and see how this will go. And E-Merl: Run! Seriously, the chick is crazy. Find someone else to love, who lack all this baggage.
