And so we have avoided a potential shipwreck within the chambers of this House of Houses. But if you ask me, there’s some flotsam and lagan to be seen amongst our Admiral and Embraisch’nj. Luckily for the latter, his hopes are not derelict and perhaps one day, this wood elf’s spirits will no longer be dampened.
Part of me hopes he finds a way to make a living without furthering the rift between his people and Gastonia. Part of me hopes that he works this into his next set.
Yeah, what was that about? I was getting a “crazy cultist exposed” vibe, but it doesn’t sound like the stuff we’ve heard from the cultists we’ve met so far.
I give him points for “the tide will swallow you all.” That’s some good catch-phrase theme-threatening, there. You want to make sure that you’re ranting something that translates well into a visual medium as they’re dragging you off.
“Red sky in morning, sailors take warning.
Red sky at night, sailor’s delight.”
Despite being keelhauled for gross incompetence, he certainly seems to have swallowed the navy line, hook and sinker, if this is the kind of thing he spouts to try to get himself off the reef he’s aground on.
I haven’t seen a political exit that undignified since the US Marshalls hauled George Wallace out of the way. We haven’t heard the last of the Admiral, but if his coup attempt is as inept as his other actions, they’ll spare his life because he’s so pathetic.
Iwatani sowing the seeds of dissent and getting applauded for it is masterful. He still has the black mark of his son causing all that trouble in the gnome district and he’s raised the demihuman power here collectively by removing the bigoted power so that will be an interesting thing to see play out in whether he gets the Navy under his appointment or not.
I love that expression as they talk about who is a danger to the state.
I like that Embraisch’Nj has some decent qualities but I was also hoping for less contriteness and some Gilbert Godfrey-esque “You paid for Gilbert, you’re getting Gilbert.” follow up jokes. I hope he can find a way to show more fiber in the future and balance his offensive qualities with some courageous ones. It takes a lot of nuts to get up there and offend everyone and I hope we get to see more of him before he packs up his trunk and leaves.
Ardaic is Jarvis’ familiar, and it’s still a bit of a feature (others say exploit) in Kingdoms of Arkerra that you can directly issue commands to a familiar without using the say-menu if you bind some keys to the +instruction command in your config.
Sounds like a plausible explanation. For in-game explanation I’d just go with Ardaic having free reign, kind of like a lawyer speaking for a client. As long as Jarvis has complete confidence in Ardaic’s loyalty and ability he can just let the man do whatever he wants, and then they can discuss the particulars in private.
In one of the larp games that I help run, the setting is classical fantasy (roman/greek gods etc.)
One of the playable cultures is Egypt, and Egypt’s current Pharaoh has been possessed by the god Horus. The fun part is that mortals cannot hear the voice of a god and live (they just kinda explode) – so the Pharaoh has to have all of his commands relayed through a chamberlain, while remaining silent, or occasionally making a hand motion.
The Chamberlain’s job is highly sought after, as it is a seat of great power in Egypt. It is also often open for applications, as if the current chamberlain does something Pharaoh disapproves of, he will usually take them somewhere private and explain it to them in person.
Jarvis is merely using /t Ardaic DooDs, we should tot4lly pWn that lamer even moar !!!1!!111lol!!! let’s roxXx his a$$ so hard he’ll /ragequit and cry to his moma!!!!!!!!!11!
You know, there’s spending most of your time listening, and not speaking, and there’s LITERALLY HAVING OTHER PEOPLE SAY EVERYTHING FOR YOU. Jarvis, open your damn mouth and make your own damn motions.

Should have made the Admiral walk the plank, I say. Embraisch’nj could be the plank!
Part of me hopes he finds a way to make a living without furthering the rift between his people and Gastonia. Part of me hopes that he works this into his next set.
He’s definitely quite the stiffy ain’t he?
I wonder if he swells when wet?
Be the willow, Embraisch’Nj.
Lie down.
Try not to cry.
Cry a lot.
But please, don’t put sap all over the carpet. The janitors have already enough work.
RED DAWN over Gastonia.
WOLVERIIIIINES!

Damn! These Wood Elves are so stiff.
They need to learn how to branch out.
Eh, Syr’s bark is worse than her bite.
She’s a real sap once you get to know her.
Still, it feels like the ‘nj familly is branching out even more.
They do have deep roots.

And he would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for those pesky elves.
Ru rot rat right, raggy! Rooby-rooby-dooo!

*slowclap*
Oof. Well played, sir.
Jarvis and Ardaic are telepathic? XD
Ardaic is Jarvis’ familiar, and it’s still a bit of a feature (others say exploit) in Kingdoms of Arkerra that you can directly issue commands to a familiar without using the say-menu if you bind some keys to the +instruction command in your config.
Ardaic and Jarvis’s Sepiaworld counterparts are roommates, and Jarvis’s microphone is broken.
Alternatively, it’s just dialogue, not action…
… So Jarvis is just using multiple accounts.

i see it theyre either a dual account or theyre sending /tells to each other
or ardaic has standing orders because everyone has been waiting for this moment to happen for a long while.
or ardaic is reading jarvis’ nonverbal communications. he is looking at jarvis in the first panel.
maybe i should read follow-up comments before adding mine sometimes =P

Don’t ruin this for Ardaic. He had to work hard for this gig.
Hah! Ardaic is the military leader of Gastonia, regardless of Jarvis’ title.
There’s so much happening on this page, and all of it executed well. Waltrip Bros, Phil and T, well done guys, well done.
Thank you, Plain.
“… until he is no longer a danger to the State.”
What a wonderfully open-ended sentence. Robespierre would have approved.
I just now realized that the Admiral_Annunziata-Tag is missing here.
