I believe that’s Gravedust, followed by Byron. Gravedust implying that he does have a “point towards evil” enchantment, but of limited range, and Byron viewing the quest as a job.
I’m pretty sure Gravedust is implying that any utility from a “point towards evil” arrow would be negated just by being in the presence of Payet’s ass.
Because the whole town is filled with evil people.
(sorry, clicked “submit comment” on accident… using a laptop mouse-pad and not good with the whole double tap.
The characters I’ve played have always been Chaotic Chaotic, whether they were meant to be or not… because apparently I don’t get “Lawful”.
I tried to play a Paladin once. He lost his Paladin powers in the first 5 minutes of the game due to a disagreement with the DM. I mean obviously euthanising sick peasants and then laying their bodies out in neat rows constitutes both Good AND Lawful… right?
Pretty sick. Looked like magic leprosy.
Actually, in hindsight it might have been the stabbing them in the back that lost the paladin powers… There are funny rules about that sort of thing, even if the entire purpose of it was to mitigate the suffering of having to face their own deaths.
Anyhow… I did good… and got punished for it. Ethical subjectivity, I guess.
I can only make out that Syr’nj is having the soup with noodles. The heroes aren’t sitting in the same pattern as their bowls, unfortunately. It looks like that Frigg might be having the meat soup with bread (is that bread she’s munching on?). That might mean that Gravedust is having the simple broth. Dunno whose having the veggie soup or the seafood soup, although the later sounds more like the ‘good soup’ that Byron was looking forward to. Which would mean that Payet is still elf-enough to have veggie soup.
I dearly love Frigg bouncing off of Gravedust. Comedy Gold is born of the person who always has the most sense in the room engaging in conversation with someone who’s most likely never even met any sense, and if she did would probably beat it up for being foreign.
…In my head, I can not stop hearing Payet as the albino science-guy from Venture Bros.

Whenever they try to post? I”ve been getting it for a few days now, only on Guilded Age, but when I come back to check my posts show up just fine.
Hypothetical, I get that error too, for a week now.
And since we don’t see her (is the POV over her head?), I think the last statement is coming from Bandit – she may know quite a bit about the local pirates!
I see Syr’Nj is still quite taken with Payet. And why isn’t he eating anything? Just stand-offish?
To be honest, Carl-E, I hope his own stand-offishness get Payet killed… or perhaps finding a guy that doesn’t care that he’s an ‘epic hero’.
And I’m hoping Syringe– I mean, Syr’ Nj doesn’t have a case of Elf-For-Elf love… that would be odd. Oh, and great way to act womanly… yeah, bY shouting at a person.
Hehehe. The funny keeps on coming.
I find amusing that Syr’Ng apparently doesn’t realize that Frigg is female, otherwise why would she think that being female would be a qualification? Admittedly, Frigg’s armor and hairstyle eliminate the most obvious clues, and being a different species likely throws off the instinctive cues, but I still think it is funny.
As far as the evil comment goes, the only one of the crew who I think would qualify is the bard. Many systems treat evil as selfish. He puts himself first, second, third, and fourth in priorities, and only seems to think of others in terms of what they can do for him. Also, I’m fairly certain Bandit is not currently with them. The add called for 5 adventurers, and we have not seen her since they accepted the job. She might be following and show up later to ‘liberate’ their reward, but she is not actually a part of the group right now.
I see Frigg as Chaotic Something Other Than Evil. Maybe Neutral, maybe Good.
Payet, however, I see as Chaotic Neutral, because Chaotic Evil is doing evil because your evil or for evils’ sake. Chaotic Neutral, however, will do anything to further themselves and possibly a close ring of friends(of which Payet has none). So yeah.
I like Gravedust’s deadpan snark-ery in this comic. Although, Gravedust is a kickass name.
Also, Syr’nj will fall out of whatever spell she’s under once Payet ditches them/cowers in a corner while Frigg and Bryon murder everything/steals most of the loot for himself. No worries.
None of the evil alignments mean doing evil for evil’s sake. Being a selfish asshole who cares about nothing but himself certainly qualifies for evil alignment.
Payet’s alignment is most definitely True Douche.
Gravedust seems more Neutral Good
Syr’nj I’m thinking is Lawful Good
Byron is either Neutral Good or Lawful Good, though I’m leaning more towards Neutral Good.
Frigg is definitely Chaotic Neutral. She’s probably only in it for the good stew.
I’d think Bandit was also Chaotic Neutral, but I can’t say with any certainty.
You can be good and still want to make money off of your work. As Byron himself admitted, he didn’t even try to convince those farmers to give him anything extra. He probably didn’t even notice that he’d scared the hell out of them.
Good across the board with Payet being Unaligned. Though i could see Byron and Frigg being unaligned as well. Byron is good natured, but that doesn’t necessarily mean good. And people like Frigg can often seem good when they are on your side and not so good when they are not.
I’d be careful about saying yes to Frigg like that Gravedust, she might start thinking it’s like being a Highlander and you have to behead someone to claim their name post-mortem.
I think the last line is from Byron, both because it seems like something he’d say, and because I’m fairly certain I know what lead he means. Check the previous chapter.
am i the only one that seems to miss the connection between pages? 4 example the dungeon situation at this chapters start. or the “being female” tantrum??
“I’m so female that my pheromones turn gay men straight! I once accidentally dipped my finger in a cake I was baking for a friend living downtown, and all the gay nightclubs within a 3-mile radius of her house closed down the next day!!”
Gravedust may not make jokes much, but his reply to Frigg made me chuckle.
Also, Payet’s charisma needs a recharge.
My only question is which asshole the “I do not think it would fly very far” comment is referring to.
I’m presuming that it’s also Gravedust, seems to have the same dry wit. He’s quickly becoming my favourite character. :)
I believe that’s Gravedust, followed by Byron. Gravedust implying that he does have a “point towards evil” enchantment, but of limited range, and Byron viewing the quest as a job.
Wasn’t there a magical point towards evil arrow in one of the ewok movies?
I’m pretty sure Gravedust is implying that any utility from a “point towards evil” arrow would be negated just by being in the presence of Payet’s ass.
“Friendly fire” implies the target is friendly…
The arrow wouldn’t fly very far because it’d hit someone really close. ^^;
Because the whole town is filled with evil people.
(sorry, clicked “submit comment” on accident… using a laptop mouse-pad and not good with the whole double tap.
Never mind the town, it would probably hit Frigg.
Frigg strikes me less evil and more Chaotic Good-ish. Fights for the cause, all that. I guess maybe sometimes the cause is her own amusement?
Frigg is what my gaming buddies used to call “the ultimate cop-out alignment: chaotic good with neutral tendencies and evil whims.”
Ah. So Chaotic Neutral
The characters I’ve played have always been Chaotic Chaotic, whether they were meant to be or not… because apparently I don’t get “Lawful”.
I tried to play a Paladin once. He lost his Paladin powers in the first 5 minutes of the game due to a disagreement with the DM. I mean obviously euthanising sick peasants and then laying their bodies out in neat rows constitutes both Good AND Lawful… right?
how sick and how horrible a death?
Pretty sick. Looked like magic leprosy.
Actually, in hindsight it might have been the stabbing them in the back that lost the paladin powers… There are funny rules about that sort of thing, even if the entire purpose of it was to mitigate the suffering of having to face their own deaths.
Anyhow… I did good… and got punished for it. Ethical subjectivity, I guess.
Nah, it would find Bandit, tho!
Might find Payet. Or does taking advantage of somewhat dim hot chicks count as neutral?
Is it wrong that I have been waiting for a page like this so I can start matching bowls to adventurers?
I can only make out that Syr’nj is having the soup with noodles. The heroes aren’t sitting in the same pattern as their bowls, unfortunately. It looks like that Frigg might be having the meat soup with bread (is that bread she’s munching on?). That might mean that Gravedust is having the simple broth. Can’t…Unhear…
I keep hearing payet as Jake Busey. It’s the whole arrogant blonde thing, I thing.
Is anyone else getting this error

I have gotten the same message for the past few weeks.
I just lol’d so loud at your comment Buzzard, I scared the cats. Awesome.
Damn you, Buzzard! Now that’s how I’ll read his voice, too!
Hypothetical, I get that error too, for a week now.

Finally, Gravedust rocks.
Um, re-reading, I realize that it is Frigg’s referring to her as a dude that Syr’Ng is objecting to. My bad.
Am I the only one that really wonders how Syr’nj was going to finish that sentence?
In fact i’m SO female that my chloroplast only absorb the pink spectrum of light!
So yeah.

No Berserker is Lawful Anything.
But you have to remember, he’s not a typical berserker.
Yeah, those alignments definitely seem fitting. Byron is Chaotic Neutral for sure, he didn’t smash those lizards for fun, he did it for cash.
You can be good and still want to make money off of your work. As Byron himself admitted, he didn’t even try to convince those farmers to give him anything extra. He probably didn’t even notice that he’d scared the hell out of them.
What about 4th ed. alignments?
Good across the board with Payet being Unaligned. Though i could see Byron and Frigg being unaligned as well. Byron is good natured, but that doesn’t necessarily mean good. And people like Frigg can often seem good when they are on your side and not so good when they are not.

am i the only one that seems to miss the connection between pages? 4 example the dungeon situation at this chapters start. or the “being female” tantrum??
The “being female” statement was in response to Frigg calling her a “green dude.”
Yeah, the dungeon thing seemed a little out of context, but I think it’s a flash-forward thing. Or this is flashback. whatever.
I dunno, I’m just along for the ride. I’ll let the storytellers unfold it!
Yeah, the dungeon was a flash-forward, just like the fight with the Fire Demon at the beginning of Chapter 1.
Don’t know what you mean about the “being female” tantrum. It’s in Panel 2, and uh, it shows Syringe gettin’ mean. I’m not sure what the question is.
I wish she had finished that sentence.
“I’m so female that my pheromones turn gay men straight! I once accidentally dipped my finger in a cake I was baking for a friend living downtown, and all the gay nightclubs within a 3-mile radius of her house closed down the next day!!”
