Mmm… onlookers. It seems like adventurers using sharp objects on people isn’t terribly rare, as they’re not panicking. Is there a law for that kind of thing? Or is it just “if you got a quest, go ahead and start beating anyone over the head with that big chunk of metal”?
I’d say it is more like the Colt Peacemaker has not been invented, so I am going to just keep moving so Mr. Axeman does not start paying attention to me.
Besides, if they are as merchant middle class as they look, what do they care if a couple of ruffians kill one another.
And given that adventurers are famous for being able to carve their way through legions of town guard, I’d say law enforcement is inclined to look the other way.
-classic. Good names for the axes, too. I’m sure the “thunk” is just his friend getting pined to the wall… not too much damage, boys – after all, we need info!
No no no- he needs to color the hell outta those bad boys. Flashing red for when he’s stompin’ fools, solid black for when he’s bein’ baaadaaasss, a white highlight that sweeps across both lenses with a “GLEAM!” sound effect in the background for when he’s sayin’ somethin’ cool (default).
…Personally, I think there’s no glass in the frames at all, because those gimlets he’s starin’ at us keep knocking them out.
He’s just as lawful as any other person wanting to make a citizen’s arrest, right?
Besides if he is correct in thinking that this person is involved in the disappearances, well, axe wounds are probably a little easier to get over than torture and hanging.
Not that the guy won’t have to deal with those too if the adventurers turn him over to the law…
I’ve been enjoying this comic ever since I followed the link from Erfworld, but for some reason, this strip nails it for me. I’m sold. When y’all publish your book, I’m in.
Wow, I didn’t expect the vignettes to be all plot important and stuff. That’s dang solid writing. I am impressed.
Also impressive- the icy blue Glare o’Death Byron’s working. He is the least uncontrolled berserker ever. But great with the mood shifts! Yay, stew! You die now.

I like to think they’re standing there in order to make witty comments about the situation to each other.
So much for all those people saying that he’s lawful
FETCH!

Well, he doesn’t need legs to talk – and the pain could help fight his insobriety.
You could say his information gathering techniques are… cutting edge.
YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
You should color the glasses of your avatar :P
You are aware that glass is transparent, right?

Carl-E has it right imo.

Whoaaa. Byron means business. Serious, serious business.
Love it. Keep it up, everyone!
Well, they did go *whunk*, not *squish* so maybe he had them set to stun?

Bad. Ass.
Damn straight, we’ve been waiting. And boy, is the payoff worth it.
…Let me axe you a couple of questions.
He was “ax”ing for it. Where have I heard that before? Oh well.
Damn, he seemed like such a good friend too. A shame he made improper moral sacrifices to buy his robot whores.
Also. HolycrapByronissoawesomemyeyesarebleeeeeeding!
Wharrgarbl!
And this is why Byron’s my favorite here. w00t
I’ve gotta axe you some questions, Sundar…
Yep, I’m going to pun Hell.
Epic. Win.
His old friend? That’s cold =/
Well his “old friend” did help pirates kidnap children. Just sayin.
SO AWESOME. ^0^
I was going to wait till I got to the most recent one to comment on this comic. But this was too hardcore to pass up.
I agree with this.
This is agreeable.
I still don’t get why his Axe-handles are sigmoid-curved.
Wouldn’t that screw up the balance and force-distribution?
I would’ve waited for him to confess first.
Wow, I said he was analytical before, but wow, Byron turns out to be a regular violent Sherlock Holms!
Dude. Byrons a Papa Wolf. Awesome. Sundar is so dead.
