This just isn't what Frigg had in mind when she said she wanted to get high after the battle was over.

A hyphen and an apostrophe in the same name? That’s grounds for a war-declaration alone!

Try reading some R. Scott Bakker, you’ll be up for ceremonial book-burning as well.

I managed to read five of his books without making up my mind whether I liked them or not.

That’s about my impression too, inconclusive. But oh, those names! Those ridiculously sounding names with no internal linguistic consistency whatsoever! That boilerplate fantasy “language” that somehow, somewhy, keeps borrowing words from Greek!

      My word, well done sir.
A reference to floating castles and to Frigg (if I interpreted it correctly).

The plebeians will require a translation.

If I recall correctly, literally means castle in the sky

          Google “laputa”, one word.

Then, knowing that “la” is the spanish female version of “the”, … google “puta” … and you’ll get Jean-Luc’s double entendre.

These high elves, having distanced themselves from the war due to their lofty ideals, have become more than a little aloof. While the Peacemakers helped them get their collective heads out of the clouds way back when, it’s possible they’ll wind up having to deal with their hosts blowing the wounded situation out of proportion.

You lousy malcontent stealing all of the good puns! Now I have to make this lousy comment so I can merely shoot the breeze!

Don’t let my strong front take the wind from your sails. The sky is the limit for punning, if you get my drift. Even if you don’t find my words uplifting, I’m sure there’s someone waiting in the wings who can air a good follow-up.

Don’t look at me. Even fully clad in my stylish windbreaker and outfitted with other miscellaneous storm gear, for all my bluster I’m ill-equipped to do much beyond drafting behind that cumulus performance. A few words more and it might have been… stratospheric.

Must be hard for Frigg. The most exciting thing she’ll see all day is passing gas… and here’s she’d been promised to get her feet up in the air… all (not so) hot air, it seems.

Problems with multiple puns in one post? C’mon, let’s get cirrus about this. Ever since I was a little el nino I knew only a cumulo-nimbskull would put up a cold front about the condensation of wordplay in one trope-osphere.

Give someone enough trope and they will harangue themselves.

If Frigg is bumping into any of the elves, I think it’s safe to say it’s not to kill them, even though they might think she’s trying to.

… actually, this reminds me of the artwork on old “Yes” albums. “Fragile” and “Yessongs” especially.

Sky Elf architecture incorporates elements of bird-houses & dovecotes. I like this.
