Bandit in panel one – what a glorious expression!
Same panel: Byron has … a brown halo/head aura? (or is it a hair mousse condensation cloud?)

…even though I don’t think the word “conspiracy” means what you imply it means…

Not that I’m complaining; you’re cute regardless.

Something about that last panel…the wall shifting from sepia to color…it reminds me, as if I’d ever forget, that Bandit IS NOT REALLY ONE OF THEM. She is NOT one of the five. And it is KILLING me to wonder how exactly it is that all these PCs interact with the world of Arkerra, and with the Five.

Yeah, it just hit me too, that her whole story is about feeling accepted, part of the group…how’s she gonna feel if she finds out that the other 4 have yet another special connection that excludes her?

PS I’m still not sure she even knows that Byron, Syr’nj, and Frigg died that day. Has the truth been told to any other adventurer besides E-Merl?

How do we know she’s not a new PC being run by the player who ran Best?

And by “rn” I mean, y’know, total immersion in the character…

Haven’t we, though? I seem to remember an early page where Best plays to a crowd and Bandit picks their pockets. Or perhaps I’m simply going insane.

Well, she was worried that the other four didn’t quite see her as “one of them” since their death, so her being called for the “good ol’time” reunion was bound to make her happy.

And Bandit is always cute. ALWAYS !

Yeah, the chipperness (yes, that is a word :P) seems a bit extreme, as though this is not the real Bandit but someone pretending and laying it on a bit too thick

Are you suggesting her account has been hacked? Or just that her player’s little brother/asshole friend is at the keyboard while the regular player’s taking a bathroom break?

We have seen Bandit worry about not being considered part of the team, and telling the rest that they need to give the originals their space when she herself was excluded . . . Her being happy about being included is only a natural progression of her character arc, now that she’s part of the group whose seclusion she’d been defending.

Bandit had a thing about thinking the others didn’t trust her despite all they have been together for a while now. Her fears of that have been put to rest in an instant. So of course this is the happiest she has ever been.

I love how frigg doesn’t even understand the concept of not doing the right(eously awesome) thing. She’s all “What, this is a thing? You jackasses aren’t assholes enough to epic dick moves, so why are we talking about it?”

It didn’t come from Frigg. Frigg is on Bandit’s left, but he speech bubble came from Bandit’s right, where no one is even located. I predict that this mystery will never again be addressed or resolved by anyone.

Nnnnope… Frigg is on bandit’s left (from the camera p.o.v.) in the first shot, but in the last shot, we can assume that bandit’s talking to syr’nj, and looking at the camera, so the camera is seeing from syr’nj’s p.o.v. rather than the first panel’s. looking from that angle, frigg is most certainly to the right of bandit!

I’m guessing the greyish coloring in the background is actually part of Byron’s mental status. The Tavern, as it currently is, looks like it does because Byron was the first inside, after all. So I would think that him wavering or doubting or generally being unsure of mind would have SOME effect on the area..

And as for another thing, when WILL they tell Bandit EXACTLY what happened? It’s not exactly ‘I trust you guys with everything’ if one person gets the ‘Oh, except about that one thing’ treatment.

The brown ‘aura’ around Byron’s head is the wooden door. Check the previous strip.

Anyone else reckon Frigg managed to burp out all the speech in those panels? Maybe she even managed to burp out the GAAAAAAAY

I know exactly what you mean. I think I would have the same reaction as Dave Lister when Rimmer pulled that exact stunt. “But its YOU inside there, blechhh”. I do, however, get a Cat vibe from Auraugu.

I have to admit to being very curious as to how bandit has really been holding up to the social dynamics and how things will continue to play out now… And does the way she talks about “Conspiracy” remind anyone else of the real-world board game? I feel like she’s a real inhabitant of Arkerra at this point, definitely… But I can’t help but see that line as someone doing a little 4th wall breaking.
