Oh good, Fr’nj did the smart thing instead of the self-sacrificing thing everybody else thought she would do.

I wonder where Hammerhead went. Besides “away”.

Frigg’s mace is facing the aberration in the final panel. Can’t quite make out which piece of her is which for the rest, but assuming she hasn’t moved from when she kicked HAMMERHEAD, relative to that scene he went somewhere between off-panel-right and directly toward the viewer. Not toward the bit blight at all, so I’m sure he’s fine.

Am I the only one hoping this leads to a Champion/Peacemakers alliance where they try to end the shitty war and get Gastonia to treat the savage races as fellow sapient beings and the savage races to stop trying to kill Gastonia because Gastonia doesn’t want to?

Battlegrounds are always available, lore-wise either re-enactments or local flare-ups of the Cold War. But no, PvP has to be pressed into everyone’s faces, right?

Oh yeah. PvP must be observed, lest you be be labeled the dreaded “casual”!
Sarcasm aside, I’ve never been one for PvP. I play games like these to work with people, not fight them.

I thought the oh-no-PvP crowd was called “carebears”? Though I guess ‘casuals’ would also dislike PvP since competing with other humans requires a lot of dedication if one wishes to stand a chance against those who do little else. Which is the main reason why I don’t usually like PvP. I love freedom, and being forced to focus on ‘preparing for war’ isn’t as fun as doing whatever else I might want to do.

The alt text suggests that, but I assume we’ll see HAMMERHEAD in the next episode even if it’s just while he’s getting de-rezzed.

But if he was pushed into the thing, he’ll probably prove to be as inedible as Frigg was, armored in his own version of glowy HAMMER shit.

Nope. My money (figuratively) is on de-rezzing. That would fit to him being presented to us in a very likeable way. Before he charged Frigg.

It’s possible but wouldn’t be much of a twist, and I feel they’re building up to some sort of a twist here. “Oh no, the shark fell into the shoggoth! Tune in next week to find out that… yes, turns out he’s really dead.”
But if we get “Nope, turns out what is HAMMERHEAD may never die, but rises again hungrier and stronger and with glowy shit…” It would be more interesting than killing off a character before we even got to know him.

            [Spoilers from next day]
You’re right about the more interesting part. But the “not much of a twist” argument has proven wrong more often than not. GA has proven not as twisty as many of the readers always imagine. (Which is something I like because when there IS a twist it’s really striking.) About the being-presented-to-us-in-a-very-likeable-way-almost-meaning-to-wear-a-redshirt-argument: Seems they go more a being-presented-to-us-in-a-loving-partnership-means-to-wear-a-redshirt-way. Poor, brave Rachel…

Are we even sure that Land Sharks can see the beast? Perhaps as a shark analogue with a weird hive mind thing, they’re only capable of seeing things that can be classified as prey, which digital monsters from another universe are not.

I mean how would you even eat this thing?

Hmm, in the previous page, her feet were toward the giant green world-eating abomination. In this last panel she seems to have her glowy mace end toward the giant green world-eating abomination. The difference is rather important, as Sharkboy was kicked in the direction of her feet, which is either into the giant green world-eating abomination (as indicated by the last page) or away from it (as indicated in this page).

And I’m honestly not clear on which is the intention here.

    My thoughts:

I see that Magda’s dressed for the occasion.

I wonder if Glowy Hammershit protects against bad breath?

There’s… a distinct lack of flying HAMMERHEAD in the last panel.

If he goes out after pulling this stupid shit, I will be so disappointed in him.

HAMMERHEAD is such a coward, going after unsavory sorts helping his team instead of the monster that he saw first hand destroy his own people. As Penk noted, even the ‘mindless’ landsharks are smart enough to recognize that they shouldn’t eat their allies.
