Some how I don’t even think Persson is ill. It was rather convenient he got miners lung just as the houses were consolidating their power. I wouldn’t him count out yet: He’s likely to have something up those massive sleeves of his.
It’s a split in the Alutruist! They are breaking into Alutruist ‘Some Cardinal Direction’ and Alutruist ‘The Opposite Cardinal Driection’. Soon they will begin a cold civil war within Gastonian as they battle over ultimate power over the population.
Ehh… If he wanted to kill him, coming to do it personally would be kind of stupid. Just pay off the nurse to dribble poison in his ear or hire a ninja death squad to come in the night. I mean, these guys probably have ninja death squads on speeddial.
Yeah, that’d help with the already crappy public perception of adventurers. Still, it’d probably pay better than collecting rabbit tails or whatever fetch quests are available.
Iwatani might be an ambitious slimeball who lets his son get away with literal murder, but I gotta respect a man who takes time to be pleasant with the powerless. I’ve seen the dude sweating in the fields, leading the formation of consensus in council, and showing respect to people who can’t hurt him. Not exactly your one-dimensional Machiavellian Prince.
Consumption, as the name implies, is an archaic name for detoriation of the lungs, and most commonly used to indicate tuberculosis. ‘Miner’s lung’ shares some characteristics with TBC though.
This does not bode well… Please don’t kill off the House member who seems like a ton of fun.
I don’t think he’s killing him, maybe because that could draw too much suspicion. I do think he must be ensuring that he stay ill.
I don’t know. He may plan on poisoning Guildmaster Persson and then conveniently blame it on the nurse.

I wouldn’t doubt a drill or a pickaxe, but something that can save him? My doubts…
Well both Iwatani and Persson are part of the original Alutruist conspiracy, so there might be mroe going on here.

OR cardinal direction points.
And is the Cardinal of the Church in on this?…If so, on which side?
Tune in next time.
I hope it’s a fake-out. It seems way too obvious for Iwatani. What, he’s just going to poison a guy in broad daylight during a house visit?
Here, old friend. Take your turpentine OOPS I mean tetracycline.
Whelp, he’s dead.

Of, y’know, a bunch of adventurers out of work and potentially looking for any job available.
*or. Stupid typos.
Yeah, that’d help with the already crappy public perception of adventurers. Still, it’d probably pay better than collecting rabbit tails or whatever fetch quests are available.
“Yes, I’m totally not here to murder my co-woker.”
I can only see this ending with a favorable outcome.
Perfect. Avatar.
You called?
Digging the shovel decor btw.
A shovel on the wall to show you ‘has a shovel’ and don’t hide your skeletons in the closest like everyone else.
Did you notice that the door hinges are stylised pickaxes too?
…Wonder where the sledge hammers are?
under his pillow
In the highest window, over the front door, in a cross pattern.
POLONIUM.
Is that what happened to you, too, Persson?
This is literally the plot to the second arc of the Phantom Blood saga of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
The thought did cross my mind. Not nearly as many extremely buff men posing randomly though.
Perhaps they’re off-panel.
I can’t wait for the reveal that he’s NOT poisoning this guy, and is instead just really good friends with him after all.
Then they both discuss murdering Ardaic!
Followed by the reveal that the medicine was already poison!
Of course His Grace’s not going to poison Pardo, he’s gonna make the boy do it.
“Good boy.”
Isn’t he at Persson’s house though?
Good point. Persson is Mining, and there’s a shovel on the wall, and the “ancestor” paintings are bearded figures, like Persson.
It’d make for a great father-son bonding moment.
Ever dug yourself into a hole so deep, you had to keep on digging to come out the other side?
Avatars continue to be on point af.
OK son just like you practiced on all the small woodland creatures, time to hike up your big boy pants and kill a person. I’ll be waiting in the hall.
“I rather envy you, my son. I’ve killed some persons in my life, and had a lot of persons killed for me, but I’ve never killed a Persson.”
I am sensing a certain lack of puns here. Do we not do those anymore? Please, do not bury the puns!
Puns are good for what ailes you, but you need to take your time and nurse them to their full potential.
Thank you :)
Is this a digger I see before me?
the winner
+1
Who knew the Head of Agriculture would be such an efficient Reaper?

Just another reason I follow this comic novel.
Maybe Persson ran into some radium or something in the mines and as a result has come down with a bad case of consumption (leukemia).

As an aside, I love the decorative shovel.
What am I saying, of course I do! I put it there!
Amazing…I did not know that a non-landshark can grin like that.
Old Man Picture is not amused.
Are house matters anything like country matters?
