I think it’s pretty clear who has the Best line here.

I’m confused. I didn’t understand like half of what was being said. Why is Byron confused? What? And what thing did Frigg ask about?

Byron was wondering why Fr’nj is missing an arm (like I was yesterday). As for Frigg, I don’t remember.

Byron is confused because Fr’Nj is missing an arm.

Frigg is probably mad because she’s gearing up to doing something she doesn’t really want to do. Either that, or the letter she sent didn’t achieve the desired result, and she straight-up wanted Tamara to NOT wait around for her.

RE Bryon, yep, I get that now, lol.

RE Frigg, I am still wondering what it is she wants to do. I probably just forgot again and will find out soon enough.

Tamara is what’s left of the nun order “Sisters of the Perpetual Bloodshot Eyeball”(or something like that). That order became the “Sisters of the Unyielding Open Heart”; they honor and follow Frigg as their liberator from darkness., and treat her activities and her speech as their canon. So it’s only natural that Tamara and any other followers would follow Frigg into battle against the current darkness of Gastonia. See chap. 12 pg 18 for more.

Awp! I misinterpreted your question, StandhaftGarithos. Frigg asked Fr’Nj to deliver a letter to Tamara back in chap 42, pg 24, panel 1

Ya know I THOUGHT she seemed to be missing an arm on Friday’s update, but didn’t see anything in the archives and assumed it was just the way she was standing. Well, uh… good for her!

I still really love Best’s look.

Also, I wish “What, again?” could be a running joke in regards to Byron’s death, but not enough people are supposed to even be aware he died the first time. Maybe enough parts of the story can come full circle that I’ll be able to use it in the comments instead.

So druids only have the right to bear a single arm? Hope it’s of a sufficient caliber.

Or which limb, to be honest. They only specify needing to sacrifice a “branch” – one could interpret that to mean legs are an option too. If there is a choice to make in regards to which branch.

Which is why so many mail druids have both arms and legs and are celibate.

Sorry to all the male readers who just crossed their legs and grimaced at that.

The clear choice for the min-maxer, I suppose.

Rather odd that an Archdruid in an elven tree-city would give up the ability to climb trees and ladders, but whatever.

I didn’t cross my legs and grimace, mostly because I was thinking “Mail druids? But druids usually don’t wear armor? And what’s that got to do with celibacy?” ;p

Whelp, I hope she’s somehow able to regrow branches…

Talking about senseless religious customs… this seems even more destructive than the self-castration practised by certain Roman priests. (Galli, cult of Cybele.)

I’d cut off my right arm to be ambidextrous, but seriously this isn’t like primitive Earth cults where self mutilation seemed like a good idea. This is Akerra it probably includes a power boost.

      Far less destructive I imagine.

Afterall, her bough was glowing on the last page. Heck, if it’s anything like her goddess’s bough which was the foundation of a civilzation, Fr’nj’s bough may be very fairly constructive and potent.

I feel like the sacrificed limb becomes the nifty and clearly magickal wand she’s holding. So while it’s a somewhat gruesome tradition, it is not senseless..

I am actually curious about which person’s line in the last panel the alt text is referring to: Frigg, Best or Byron?

Couldn’t be Fr’nj, that would be really weird.

Poor E-Merl. First Byron & now Psolo are making fun of him behind his back. Even so, the jokes fit snugly. :)

Here’s the appropriate comeback to Byron: “Yeah, that reminds me of when Rachel told me I was starting to ‘Byron’ a little, meaning I was MURDERING EVERYONE IN SIGHT.”

Okay, this too: “Post your comments late so biggmac won’t see and troll you.”
