The best part is, this IS a Simpsons reference, if unintentionally. Mr. Burns’ Casino, specifically.

      Oh… ooooooh no.

He’s combined the famous vehicle from his first appearance, with the famous vehicle from his later appearance, into a single ridiculous mega-vehicle. This is going to be a bad time.

Taro is exceedingly confident his war machine is going to win this war single-handedly. Even in a video game fantasy world, that’s really fat-fetched. Even in this comic update by itself (“… and this is your remaining energy.”), it’s really far-fetched.

If he wasn’t such an evil brat, he’d be more pitiful for his delusional overconfidence than despicable.

I think it’s obvious that his land doctrine is Grand Battleplan. And seeing as the Syndicali-..Savage armies are all clustered as one it might just work.

I feel like this is building up to a “Day of the Colossus” style reveal and fight. And that Spirit Cannon would, in fact, have won the war for Kuvira had it not been for her fiance’ capture.

I gotta admit seeing the scared faces of Franzington and Micholuszek and realizing they’re likely not going to get away from the likely burning wreck of this one is quite pleasing.

    You’re doing it wrong, Taro.

When the engineers of your death weapon are trying to get as far away from it as possible, it’s time to ask at gunpoint what’s going to make it explode instead of strapping in. I’m sure this was part of your dad’s lessons on the day he died.

Perhaps, but they are both cowards. So neither one will accept the risk that they might be the one that dies.

They probably figure their odds of dying in the machine is somewhat less than 50%; or the odds of being the one shot by a bullet. Not too mention the other complication JoJo brought up.

They’re at arm’s length. They could just grab the gun, shoot the kid with it, and make off with the fortress… No one outside would suspect a thing.

Those guys are Gnome men, they’re cowardly chickens!

Well, if they flee the battlefield, then their will be plenty of suspicions. And I suspect they won’t be hard to follow.

But then again, if they do flee in the tank, the World’s Rebellion will probably win the war. Hell, Fran & Mich could be heralded as heroes if they play their cards right.

Taro has a point. Assume that the professors know that there’s a critical flaw in the design, or that they’re even trying to sabotage the engine. Any other co-pilots would go in blissfully ignorant, but Franz and Mich would know exactly what to do, and would do it unless they’re willing to sacrifice themselves.

Now, I don’t actually think they’re trying to sabotage anything, and I don’t think Taro would have suggested this if the intended co-pilots had been there. He just loves being a sadistic tyrant, whether it makes sense or not. But he does have a point.
