In descending order: Gravedust, Syr’ng, Byron, Frigg, Bandit. I expect Bandit to go up once she has some real screen time. Gravedust rocks, though. Byron and Syr’ng are pretty well tied; Byron is better over all, but Syr’ng has some real moments of awesome.
I can’t even begin to choose a favorite character.
Everyone has their moments to shine, every personality is constantly growing, and growing on me.
Every time I think I’ve made a decision, you change my mind with a single panel.
byron and frigg are tied for first and second is up for grabs.
gravedust has an awesome name, just like Syr’nj, but neither of
them is “my type” shall we say in a non- sexual sense.
frigg, your choice of metaphor, while funny and getting the point across,
has given me bad images…
Heeeeyyyyy…that was a dick joke, wasn’t it? It was cleverly disguised, but I see what you did there! You all know what this means. Can flatulence funnies be far behind?
It seems to me that Frigg looks 10 times prettier in the 3rd panel then she’s ever been drawn before. Am I imagining things? Is it because she’s smiling? Or is it just because we’re seeing her reflection in a glass of something alcoholic, and beer goggles make anyone look better?
Wow, Frigg looks like she may be experiencing an actual emotion in the reflection of her booze there.
Funny as GA is, my favorite thing about it is that my favorite character is the group itself– except for Best, everyone’s pretty awesome, but they’re much better bouncing off each other. That sort of team character is hard to get right, but so much fun when it works, and I think it’s working really well here.
So basically I resent the existence of Tuesdays and weekends now. Thursdays are still cool.
I actually liked Best. He’s a total douche, yes, but that’s what I like about him. He’s like Kevin Kline’s character in A Fish Called Wanda. I was so glad when he finally got run over by a steam roller, but he was the only reason to watch the movie IMHO.
That said, favorite character is Frigg. Has been from the begining.
I love Frigg and those type of characters in general, but then again, Best is my second favorite character. I think Byron and Gravedust are kind of meh, Syrnj being allright… but Frigg and Best! Yeah! BAM! Wooh!
Well I guess she comes back and all (if I’ve got all the timejumping right) but I wonder how? And when? I love foulmouthed tomboys! I mean panel 3 is just fantastic!
I really love how this webcomic takes modern culture and anachronizes it into this fascinating fantasy world. It makes the characters so great to relate with, without losing the swagger. Keep it up, I’ll definitely keep reading.
Oh, and I think all the characters are great, including the more ‘normal’ ones like ‘Byron and Gravedust. A character doesn’t have to be “beligeransh” or a douche to be awesome.
Well, yeah…I mean look, Frigg wields a mace. Or is that blunt, rather than dull? :)
Plus, Gravedust and Syr are pretty much the “pointiest” characters. In so many ways!
I argue that Byron has done nothing wrong. Straight from the linguist’s mouth, the “rule” against preposition stranding was invented in 1672 without factual basis; actually, stranded prepositions have been a feature of the English language for centuries.
Since when does “berserker” equal “always grammatically precise”? Also, in colloquial use, ending in a preposition is not off limits. :p
Also, I was at first VERY confused by Frigg’s line about a dick, because I was thinking she was being literal….! Horrors, I tell you, passed behind my eyes. But after my initial “WHAT THE” reaction, I felt stupid. Then I read the comments and felt slightly better :P
This webcomic is one of the reasons I bother to get out of bed on a Monday.
Hey now! Certain situations can have use for intellectual cred. By chance, the comments section on this comic (seriously, some days it feels like this is the Engineer/Philosopher Lovechild Convention, and I’m the caterer)
(not that I’m complaining)
Crass and vulgar as Frigg may be, she’s damn honest and doesn’t mince words. Demmit! I can’t tell who my fav character is anymore *0*
Mine’s still Sry’nj, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Frigg after she toasted those “nuns”…
the trend here seems to be that everybody’s favourite character is whoever has done something most recently.
I’m going to stick with bandit as my favourite character, just to get ahead of the game :)
My favorite character still is, and always will be, Syr’Nj. She’s so awesome. Byron comes in second though.
My favourite character is Gravedust. I like his style, his attitude, his background, what he does, and how he does it.
here, here

So I stopped trying to figure it out.

For me it’s a toss up between Byron and Gravedust. I’ll have to learn more about them and the setting before I can really make an informed decision.
Gravy will always hold a special spot for me. I love literally everything about him.
Frigg is best character.
Gravedust is tolerable, if a bit boring.
Syr’nj is annoying.
Byron is a pillock and I don’t even know Bandit.
A good comic with compelling characters all around in a fantasy setting; what more could you ask for?
A kitten is chewing my boxers… -.-
Kinky?
Nooooo! Not Frigg too!
Best + Frigg… No moar boxblocking?
Best + Frigg would make interesting recurring villains / characters.
That said, Frigg’s not so much a villain, as she is just bloodthirsty.
That said, a replacement is needed for the two toughest combat characters, and we still need our thief. A Mage would be cool.
I did not know that about Frigg. Heh.
Good thing we know she doesn’t go far.
Heeeeyyyyy…that was a dick joke, wasn’t it? It was cleverly disguised, but I see what you did there! You all know what this means. Can flatulence funnies be far behind?
Gravedust *is* a bit of an old fart.
We had that kind of joke earlier.
Didn’t you notice how much hot air Best was throwing around?
Are you trying to get a rise out of me?
Whatever floats your airship. Could be an old dwarf, a shit-elf wearing a midriff or a bunch of shackled kids, but hey, I’m not one to judge.
Judge not, lest ye look silly in robes.
Judges give me the wiggins.
I just bought volume 0.5! hooray me!
More power to you
Bropound, awesome.
Even Syr’nj’s drunken rants are adorable.
And Frigg’s totally not gone. I suspect blackmail in her immediate future. Or a fight.
Probably both.
I love this comic. I really do. You’re the tops man. Keep up the good work.

Most people (not all) are more attractive when they smile.
*shudder* Gordon Brown *Shudder*
THE SCREAMING HORROR.
This comic is awesome on so many levels. Some of them literary.
Wow, Frigg looks like she may be experiencing an actual emotion in the reflection of her booze there.

I dunno, I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
Thankfully, I do know where my towel is.
42 on the towel my friend…I can honestly say I never leave home without it, really, and I do a lot of travelling.

Also what the heck she’s leaving too?
Frigg’s acting a little flippant about leaving, but she’s covering up the fact that she’s got a good reason. *cough*Gigundus*cough*
Well I guess she comes back and all (if I’ve got all the timejumping right) but I wonder how? And when? I love foulmouthed tomboys! I mean panel 3 is just fantastic!
Not sure if want.
I almost hyperventilated. I’ve been watching too much weeds… so that last panel is far funnier than it probably would have been otherwise.
Well, whatever. She’ll be back anyhow.

Hey, Syr N’j is aweshome, widdout bein belligeransh nor a douchshe. Cause, y’know, schiensh is aweshome, an she does it…
Not to mention the interesting mix of her wide-eyed innocence of the world combined with the cynical view of humanity she shares with gravedust.
Really, it’s the humans who are kinda dull here!
[ducks rotten fruit]
Well, yeah…I mean look, Frigg wields a mace. Or is that blunt, rather than dull? :)

Um, Byron, grammar. Don’t end a sentence with a preposition. You lose intellectual cred if you do.
Byron did not end a sentence with a preposition. He ended a sentence fragment with a preposition.
You must have very little respect for the hokey-cokey.
I argue that Byron has done nothing wrong. Straight from the linguist’s mouth, the “rule” against preposition stranding was invented in 1672 without factual basis; actually, stranded prepositions have been a feature of the English language for centuries.

I think it’s fair to assume that Byron was never an English major, or would that be “Common”?
Gastonian?
You can end sentences with prepositions.
Prepositions are something you can end sentences with.
This is where we end our sentences with prepositions at.
Ending sentences with prepositions is something up with which I shall not put.
This is somewhat childish behaviour that I hope to rise above.
I could see no other greeting/goodbye between Byron and Frigg than a good old fashioned Bropound
Respek Knuckles!
Hey KNOTHOLE!
Get back in here! You can’t leave until the GM says the module is over!
And this module. ain’t. over.
No-one has noticed the brofist between Frigg and Byron yet?
I still laugh every time I read “Why are you such a knothole? WHYYYY?”
She almost looks like a girl in the mead reflection. And then…
