Oh bandit, it appears you’ve mistakenly stolen my heart.
May I have it back, please? I need it to pump my blood.

Maybe it’s one of those hometown-as-surname deals, and she’s from Milton Keynes.

Or maybe Keynes is her first name and Bandit is just her title.

Maybe she’s just that much of a hardliner for the Keynesian school of economics.

However, in Chapter 2, Page 3 Byron calls her “Bandit.” Since he hasn’t shown much tendency to call anyone else in the group by their title, I’d guess that Bandit is either her first name or her nickname.

Well, speaking purely of morals one could easily claim she’s worse since she steals for a living while Best, despite his flaws, survives by doing odd jobs and playing music. But still Bandit’s pretty kewl and that’s the only thing that matters I guess.

Hard to say; Best can be pretty opportunistic, but I haven’t seen enough to pronounce him a con man even if he was quite happy to take everything the villagers gave him. On the other hand, Bandit’s a thief but has never tossed any children over the side of a ship or picked a fight merely because someone offended her. The last two are biggies in my book, so I’d give the slight edge to Bandit.

Actually, we’ve only ever witnessed Bandit successfully getting away with stealing from a group of evil cultists. She failed to secure the theft of Syr’nj’s hat, and she has yet to get away from Byron.

Even though it is a good bet that she lives a life of crime, we have yet to see any proof that she has actually accomplished any other thefts. A nice backstory would help.

I would agree that endangering the lives of children in the way that Best did is evidence that his morals are not very high. We simply don’t have enough evidence on Bandit yet, but there isn’t anything to say that her morals are any lower than Best’s.

being bested by several members of your prospective party, working in unison, with the element of surprise on their side isn’t that shameful.

The fact that that tiny gnome can even keep pace with the lanky wood elf is impressive.

the one part that amazed me out of all of it, was the slogan on the business card.

Only a badass barbarian can use a bob the builder slogan to say he’ll kick your ass and then leave you a business card in case of future business. cos its about first impressions really. gotta leave em knowing who used em to wipe the floor. ya never know who your next customer might be.

of course, tis a bit hard to get return customers if you chop their heads off….

I love how Byron has an axe on his wallet. It’s the medieval equivalent of “Bad Motherfucker”:

Anachronisms aside, somehow the word ‘purse’ just doesn’t convey the same level of cool as ‘wallet’. Sam Jackson might be able to pull it off, but Byron, although cool, has much training to do in the School of Badass before even whiffing of that rarefied territory.

No, a beltpouch is a the word people who wear fanny packs but are afraid of being called losers call fanny packs. It’s like people who go by trekker instead of the term that Gene Roddenberry himself coined for fans of the Star Trek franchise- trekkie.

But “purse” is faster to say than “belt pouch” which is what she nicked. Not to mention the term “cutpurse” really fits Bandit right about now.

Syr has reason to be pissed at Bandit though: remember, Bandit stole Syr’s hat way back in the beginning…I’m sure Bandit will manage to fast talk her way into the group, but her technique right now might get her threatened before they listen to her offer.

She’s still more palatable to me than Best. For now.

Thieves always have a rough time joining a group.

The advantage of not having to use a Polish Mine Detector anymore vs. always being worried about your stash kind of even out. And Bandit is already off on the wrong foot. First Syr’s lovely hat, now Byron’s goodie pouch…tsk tsk.

Whoo! Just started reading about two days ago, and caught up today. Love the comic so far. However, this might just be me going about on some crazy rant on what should be added to the comic against the author’s will (and to another extent the DnD player and Eberron fanboy in me), but I think this comic needs more Warforged! To make things more interesting for Gravedust on the whole “Living Beings” perspective! Im also crazy (and thus don’t listen to me)!

I don’t know what’s immediately more awesome: Keynes’ effortless demonstration of her talents against someone who could easily bash her face in, or the fact that Byron’s motto is on ye olde business cards.
